Well i got 180$CAN and i want to expand my tau army. I'm playing a static army right now but maybe i will change to mech if it don't cost me alot. Here what i got right now:
2 Squad of gun squadron of 7
2 Shield drone
3 Fireknife crisis
1 HQ fireknife crisis
I though about buying 2 devilfish ,1 hammerhead and then convert my last squad to two 6 man squad of stealth suit. What do you think?
Thanks for future help.
I've read some pretty good tactics for devilfishes. I used to think they weren't worth it. But if used correctly are quite effective. Stealth suits are AWESOME!!! IMO. But then my playing style doesn't seem anything like the people on this forum and they seem to work better. So I haven't been much help!
It sounds like you're making some good buys. I mount all my firewarriors in devilfish, as it is an assault shield and transport. If its destroyed, sad, but it is now 4+ cover. If you're fighting Khorne or nids we now have the ability to wound them with flechette launchers.
Devilfish are versatile, and people underestimate the fact that it can lay down 3 shots of burst fire and 2 TL drones.
Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
But I've had people waste shots at those lonely 2 Drones after detaching them.
And going Mech is a good option, I'm actually going to be modifing my Hybrid army to Full Mech, with 3 Devilfishes and 3 Hammerheads.
Just make sure your faving fun!
