Welcome to Librarium Online!
This is the first time I have entered something into these forums so I might not get it right the first time.
I would like to know if my idea for a suped up dark eldar lord would be legal or not. This is the wargear I would be giving him;
Splinter Pistol or Close combat weapon-
It would cost a total of 140 pts including the initial 60 points for the lord.
this would give him 6 attacks with a weapon that always wounds on a 4+ and allows no armour saves. He has a 2+ invulnerable save.
If your familiar with Tyrannids 'Old One Eye' would probably have a very hard time bring him down.
Its legal but the only way he will have 6 attacks is if you charge and you take the +1 attack from combat drugs. I would also give him plasma grenades. Also WELCOME to the forum and please read the rules you already violated one of them , rules are here http://www.librarium-online.com/rules.html
There is no problem with the weapons and wargear you've outlined for your Archon, but there are a couple of things that you may not be clear on:
- You can only get the benefit of 1 extra CCW (i.e. 2 max), so adding both a tormentor helm and a splinter pistol to your agonizer only adds 1 extra attack, not two. Typical Archon configurations: agonizer/splinter pistol or punisher/tormentor helm
- You only get one attack with haywire grenades (no modifiers for CCWs, charging, drugs, etc.). That's only a 1 in 6 chance of hitting a moving vehicle and then a 5 in 6 chance of either a glancing or penetrating hit (14% chance overall). You'd have much better luck giving haywire grenades to an entire squad of wyches so they can increase the chance of hitting. On the other hand, an Archon can use an agonizer to glance a vehicle, and you get all of your attacks. 6 attacks max (including +1A from drugs), plus re-roll misses (more drugs), then 6s to glance. Overall this is a 30% chance. Lord Cru'X
I thought you only had to roll the 6+ if its a moving walker, not a moving vehicle?That's only a 1 in 6 chance of hitting a moving vehicle
Sorry if I am wrong.
it only takes a 4+ to hit a vehicle as long as it moved 12 or less inches i do believe (only takes a 6 if it moved more than that)
but yeah, save the haywire grenades for something like a Reaver Jetbike squad so you can go out tank busting!
What you put up there is basically what i give my lord
Arcon (or Dracon)
Agonizer, combat drugs, shadow field, splinter pistol, and usually plasma grenades
if you ask me, i'd say the DE lord is the best lord in the game...she'd nigh unstoppable!
oops, forgot about the more than one CCW. :huh:
This guy is legal but instead of giving him a close combat weapon or a splinter pistol
you might want to try giving him poisened blades. That way his hits will always wound
on a 2+
He won't ignore armour saves then though, and can't get the attack bonus for being equipped with two close combat weapons. A potential close combat monster like an archon always should have a weapon which ignores armour saves.
If you expect to fight a lot of daemons then poisoned blades are a nice addition though, the Lord should be armed with agonizer or punisher then, tormentor helm and p-blades.
ok two things 1 agoniser is a ccw and is a power weapon counts as one choicefor ur ccws
and 2 whats the point of a tormentor helm if u dont have a
spambot kill tally: 79
[16:19] <@Alzer> Arky's right though
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^
You can have only two weapons, but with agonizer/punisher, poisoned blades and a splinter pistol the lord would have three. Therefore he can use a tormentor helm instead of the splinter pistol, because a t-helm counts as wargear and therefore does not use up one of the two weapon choices.
You get the full number of attacks with agonizer or punisher then, and you still can choose to use the poisoned blades against e.g. daemons or orks.
