Welcome to Librarium Online!
My friend says Im out of my mind, but I love the rules for Harlequins so much that they're haunting me no matter what other armies i work on. It's allll about the Harlequins Kiss! :w00t:
There's no models for them now, and if I'm lucky I can find some on eBay, but i was thinking of converting my own. I have pics of the old models painted scanned right off the old box as reference. This would be a HUGE endeavor as i would literally have to convert every single figure from the ground up but I'm looking at combining WHF Empire Soldiers ( for the pooffy material arms and legs), WHF Empire Militia for some of the lower halves that have the thigh high boots etc, and Eldar Storm Guardians. I would have to sculpt the masks for every figure over the eldar heads i suppose. As far as a paintjob I think I'd steer clear from the rainbow look of old and do them up more sinister, Joker-ish like.
So what's the verdict? am i out of my mind? or do you think it'd be worthwhile to spend the time? My worst worry is doing all that work only to have GW re-release brand new Harlie models
Hey man, if it's going to look good to you it's worth the time. I know my first conversion is more priceless to me than any of my store or auction bought units.
That said, Harlequins are awesome and I'm all for it. Especially since the harlequin solitaire model sucks IMO.
well they are getting (or suppose to) their own codex within the eldar codex to be released in november. this probably means new moels as well. however, converting it fun, plus it makes your army unique. maybe just do a single squad for now, see how it goes, and decide to move on from there.
this way if new models come in, well you can play em nice into the army.. or continue to carve your own if you don't like GW's.
You can order them from GW's website, they are under the classic models section.
