Welcome to Librarium Online!
i have a question about the pathfinders that is bugging me sicne the arrival of the new codex.
the new markerlight rules are great (and so is the marker beacon rule:shifty: ) but if i have a squad of say 7 pathfinders and they all fire their markerlight:
a. do they all have to fire at the same target? or can they fire at 7 different targets?
b. if they all have fired at the same target then do all the hits count as individual counters (eg 5 hits meaning 5 counters) or do they count as one counter together?
help me out guys, please (the pathfindfers are begging to be sold:yes: )
The pathfinders all have to fire at the same target (unless you have any with railrifles) and each hit is one markerlight counter, 2 hits is two markerlight counters etc
Yeah, you could however give them a shas'ui with target lock (total 15 pts). Then he could fire at different targets. Their own unit can't benefit from the markerlighting: if you have got some railrifles, they can't loweer the enemies ld, or highten their own BS with markerlight from the pathfinder unit, they would need a drone with networked markerlight in that case...
hmm IIRC all pathfinders has target locks..
Cheese is right. Only pathfinders upgraded to have rail rifles get a target lock. Regular models do not have them unless you pay for a 'Ui and the wargear.
thanks everybody, it is clear to me now.
just one question:
if i cause 3 wounds with the pathfinders carbines does the enemy have to take 3 Pinning tests or not?
again thanks in advance.
One pinning test.....a unit don't ever have to take more than one...even if hit by several barrage weapons...
One pinning test per unit inflicting wounds (that has pinning weapons) per turn. Page 32 of the rule book. Quite explicitly says "A unit may be called upon to take multiple pinning tests in a single turn."Originally Posted by Kristofer
So in other words if you score 7 wounds (good rolling, lol) with your pathfinder squad then the enemy still only takes one pinning test. However, if you have two squads of 4 pathfinders that score one wound each then the enemy must take two pinning tests.
Oh, that I didn't know....now my pathfinders will be even more pinnier....
