Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok i will be playing against all armies but mainly speed freaks so i am obviously getting alot of striking scoprions and an avatar but i need you help on what else to get!
I currently have 2 ten man guardian defender squads an 8 man storm guardian squad a shining spear squad and a farseer on foot so its open to you guys for the rest!
Also pop in a few strategies and tactics to use against them if possible thanks a ton for this!!!:w00t:
oh also anyone know the stats and effects of The Wailing Doom? and if the avatar can take any wargear?
The Wailing Doom does nothing. It has no special rules, stats. Its just a weapon. Like a CC weapon I guess. The Avatar Cannot take wargear.
so he rolls to hit as if it is just a power wep? that kinda lets me down considering it is like a demi god thing... is the avatar worth the points as i am ordering all the stuff next week for a trounament in like 3 weeks... ((1500 point tournie with some real pros playing))
Oh how do i take out chaos mariens those things obliterated my black templars
Well he's pretty damn cheap, so its all good.
He's a monstorus creature, so he ignores armour saves anyways, but not inv saves.
If I were you, I'd buy a falcon, some warp spiders and either some war walkers or vypers. Oh, and a wraithlord. The avatar is a really good buy for his points and can create a big fear factor. He also has the benefit of making all eldar within 12" fearless which is not to be sniffed at.
As i'm guessing the speedfreeks will have mostly light vehicles take large numbers of either starcannons or for a cheaper option take scatter lasers. Scatter lasers are better against Orks especially on war walkers as the have good range and en masse you will probably get a huge number of shots. These will all be str6 and so can rip any light ork vehicles to shreds. The cheap factor also lets you get more shots for your points. Note that the best platforms for these are either guided vypers or guided walkers. I prefer the vypers as they are more manouvreable but walkers get many more shots.
If there are any mega armoured boyz then use a starcannon or two (guided by your farseer to re-roll misses) to take them out with ease. The pulse laser on the falcon will take out pretty much anything your opponant can offer so the falcon is a must. Tool it up with ctm, holofield, and spirit stones and it'll be survivable too. If you need transports then obviously some wave serpents are also in order.
Buy some warlocks to accompany your farseer too. With as many as 5 destructors you can wreak havoc on any orks you meet, especially if you jump out of a wave serpent. Scorpions will also be a good bet and either a biting blade or claw will serve you well on the exarch. Spiders can be useful as they can take out medium mobs of boyz, destroy light vehicles and withdraw from combat.
Falcons with 5-man Storm Guardian squads w. 2 flamers each in them should do very well; Falcons can kill off transports and drop Guardians with 2 flame templates to waste infantry afterwards. Skimmers are really hot here since they can't get caught in combat.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
I would try getting a Swooping Hawks Squad since Orks are pretty lightly armoured.
Large Pie plate----->WoS-shooting------->CC
Will guarantee at least one squad disappearing from the map.
erm what is WoS shooting? and what fires the large ordnance blast template?Originally Posted by MoosieFate
web of skulls is one of the weapon options for the swooping hawk exarch. it can get up to four shots in the shooting phase.
if the hawks deepstrike, they get to use an ordnance template known as this grenade pack. it is very useful against light infantry.
