I'm a Tau player and I'm thinking my next army will be eldar. I really like the saim hann portion of the eldar craftworld codex because I'm a huge fan of jetbikes, they're fun to paint and fun to use in battle. My question is; Can a Saim Hann army compete against others, or is it really weak for some reason?
I play a small 1000 pt saim hann army and it was my first army ever and im capable of beating some of my friends who play space marines and necrons
It is not really that weak the only major problem is that when you los eone you lose quite a few points
And watch out for Tau pulse rifles, penetrate. droooool.....
I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight... razor... and surviving.
The main strength of the Saim-Hann is its speed, remember this and you will never lose (well almost never)

Until you get the crap shot out of you bye a shooty army.
Back from a long adventure.
Well, it's like any other army, and it actually most closely resembles a REALLY REALLY fast Deathwing army; your numbers are few, but played well, your army can kick ass. Just remember that every bike counts. If you lose one, you feel that loss. Redkitty, you could say that about any army. It's a matter of how you play them. Don't discourage people that want to start a new army by saying that they'll always lose against a shooty army. Saim-Hann can get pretty shooty itself if you decide field an all-Vyper army (~cough~ CHEESE) but the point is any army can kick ass if you field it correctly. Eldar (in general) take much skill to field because their units are all specialized for certain roles. Play what you want, and you'll figure out how to win by experience.
Yeah! Go Saim-Hann, their speed is great, but sadly they only get 1 Elites and Heavy Support choices. Your Heavy Support should always be a Grav Tank (Falcon, Fire Prism) and your elites should be Warp Spiders or another aspect in a Wave Serpent.
sam hann vypers more then jet bikes, they do cost more money
but they are better all around
besides u can get a star cannon or a brite lance insted of the cannon
i definetly agree with cold asian, id much prefer to do a saim hann army just with vypers and leave the jetbikes out of it, i would rather have all vypers with ctm in 1000 points then any jetbikes, I just as many others think jetbikes are really to expensive pointswise and i think having a vyper army led by Nuadhu Fireheart would look really cool on the battlefield....back to the original question "can it compete with others", i really think it depends on the list that you create and the battlefield you play on, one with no scenery and im guessing you would be dead in a very fast time, one with plenty scenery and your chances are much improved to winning the battle
Awwww no I opened my drawer and took out some old warhammer models then tried too put them back in and close the drawer but couldn't, damn the stupid black hole = free OOP models for Brettonia due too not being able too squeeze them back in my drawer >_<
