    Tau is a great army

I like the history behind them, and their pure firepower!
i see sum problems with parts of the army, but overall, i think its great, but its not the all around type army space marines are.

    welcome back to wh49k
    have fun playing!

Congrats on your steps towards the greater good.
Now let me tell you it will be a difficult ride. Tau are one of the hardest races to play effectively.
Saying to stay out of CC is easier said than done. You have some of the most powerful weaponry in the universe but you will have to remain agile on the battlefield to reduce casualties. Tau are one of the few armies that require a leader to effectively combine several units to eliminate one of your opponenets. If you can get them all working together they will become a orchestra of destruction.
    I wish you the best.

I'm pretty new to Tau myself. I've only played two games with mixed results!

1 win against IG (and by God it was a fantastic win!! Only 3 Guardsmen left alive!!! Woo Hoo&#33

1 loss against World Eaters (I hate them with a passion normally reserved for fat people skinny-dipping&#33

Lesson: you can never have enough Fire Warriors!

Deploy about 25 inches from your opponent. This will usually give you at least two rounds of shooting before you have to fall back. then fall back and keep shooting.

You just have to watch out for fast moving enemy units. As well as Marines in general!

Never underestimate the power of the Hammerhead. Or Markerlights! A 2+ hit for a railgun or three. Fantastic!

Mind you these tactics may not work (I have only played two games after all&#33 but they worked exceptionally well against the Guard, less so against the Berserkers.

I would like to try an Ion Cannon against the berserkers cos that might cause them a few problems. (No more than they deserve!&#33

Yeah plasma is the way to do it. If you have to start twin linking plasma. Oh it works nicely.
