ive recently aquired an Eldar codex and im thinking of buying a battleforce and an guardian squad what would you recommend, given that my budget is $110 after the battleforce and a guardian squad?
P.S. the craftworld im thinking of having is the Ulthwe.

If youi are going for ulthwe, then your starter is:
Seer council (base say 2 farsers and 5 warlocks + other warlocks for guardian squads)
2x black guardian squads (vary in size, but lets say 10, plus a weapons platform, plus a warlock)
Fire support - generally a Falcon, possible wraithlord and/or vypers, possibly D cannon
This is then generally supplimented by a couple more guardian squads (none black guardians should use star cannon as the weapons platform) potentially an aspect warrior squad (commonly reapers, scorpions, banshees or spiders) and more fire support
Everything you have been told is a lie!
When I picked up my eldar about a month ago, I bought the battle force and the seer council. Especialy considdering that exept for the jetbikes, everything in the battleforce is gold.
I still need to pick up another defender squad, and two storm squads, so I may swap out depending on my opponent (I only play friendly really).
After that, its off to buy a squad of Warpspiders!
I've seen a man roll 26 ones in a single handfull of dice, and Tycho die 49 consecutive times in 60 games. I've had a wolf lord never die (106 games) and a war walker kill a Force Commander AFTER its gotten both weapons destroyed. I've lived a full gaming life.
jetbikes can be useful as harassing units. they're not cheap though. and you don't get a shurican cannon one in the box set, which is a shame.
Going from what the battleforce has I would advise a HQ choice, preferably a farseer since he is very good at supporting the army and gives you warlocks to play with.
On top of this get two weapon platforms for the Gaurdians, these will give you much needed firepower. I would give each squad a warlock too (conceal psychic power and close combat weapon and pistol)
I would also add a shuriken cannon jetbike for the extra strength, range and number of shots to the existing number (excellant against light infantry and potential to penetrate light tanks). On top of this a warlock equiped with a singing spear and destructor, this will give the squadron enough firepower to potentially payback their points, do not forget the 6" assult move they have in any direction. (Money wise it would be best to buy a warlock which is easily converted onto a jetbike and the actually shuriken cannon bike itself. This way you can mount the warlock on one of the jetbikes you got in the battleforce, four jetbikes should be enough, anymore and the points cost will be too much.)
2 Weapon Platforms
1 Shuriken Cannon jetbike
If you have extra cash I would add a box of Gaurdians to bulk up the army.
My recommendations do not have a specific craftworld in mind, I leave you with an army which is very playable and can be modified later very easily (without discarding any existing models with the exception of USF) to whatever craftworld you wish to later change into.
