    Necron faster than Eldar?

Would a swarm heavy Necron force be fast enough to give a Jet Bike heavy Eldar force a good fight?

A buddy plays Eldar and is reveling in the threats of how speedy his army can take someone out. I'm thinking i need to match that speed rather than bulk out and stand tough.

If you pack in as many Destoyers and Heavy Destroyers as possible, maybe.
Or if you can get a Monolith near his army and start teleporting in Warriors.

You don't want too much of your force being Non-Necron units, since it will make it that much easier to Phase you Out.:shifty:

For fast attack go 2 units of destroyers and a unit of scarabs (just because they are so cool).

For heavy support take squads of heavy D's (leave the monolith for now).

Take a VoD lord with some immortals and have a basic 20 warriors providing fire and preventing phase out.

    1500 list

    Lord - VoD, res.orb 200

    10 immortals 280

    10 warriors 180

    10 warrors 180

    4 destroyers 200

    4 destroyers 200

    5 scarabs 60

    Heavy destroyer 65

    Heavy destroyer 65

    Heavy destroyer 65

    Total 1495
    Phase out 11

Very fast, very shooty and rather resilient.

The only problem with Warriors is they are nerfed on range. If you stand and shoot, faster units can outmanuver you. If you move to a better firing postion, your range is halved. I think that's a good layout (save for the Heavy Ds but I'm just not a fan of them) to deal with most anything an Eldar player can throw your way.

Well the list I built is solely focussed on speed, and 20 warriors are there just because you HAVE to take them.

The heavy D's are basically there to add to the speed and 3 of them will most likely take out most things.

I suppose if you dropped the scarabs, and 2 heavy D's you could get in another 4 destroyers and be 5 points over.

Either way thats a lot of mobile fire power (now I think about it my revision may be even better).

Damn right, I would like flayed ones to be troops but that is a discussion for another time.

Short answer- necrons can be extremely fast but you pay a lot of points for it.

Its been my experience that Destroyers completely own eldar jetbikes. I wouldnt be too worried so long as your fielding enough destroyers and a flying circus.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
