I am fighting a minimum of two 1500 point battles this weekend against the space marines and tau and maybe chaos marines and imperial guards please help me! i have access to every kind of unit their is for elder!!
What Craftworld do you play (or vanilla maybe?)
Marines/CSM = Go Starcannons en mass (vypers, falcon, Guardians), a Wraithlord with BL, Banshees and Fire Dragons in serpents. Warp Spiders is good as well. Or something like that.
Tau = Scorpions are good, SCs are never wrong and a Falcon or two with SS, field and SC is always good. Warp Spiders is good as well.
IG = Scorpions is good. Havn't played that much against them though. Warp Spiders do work.
yes perhaps a little more detail?
Craftworld for example would be good, perhaps a first go at a 1500 points list in the army list forum?
Everything you have been told is a lie!

Ah! Copyright-violation orgie! It is agianst the law to post stats on models and weapons and rules and so on.
Okay good, now post a list without all those copy-righted stuff (ie. individual point costs for items and upgrades, unit stats and veichle specifics. Total point valeus in units are ok)!
I've found banshees and reapers to be the ultimate anti tau units, they are awesome against space marines too, at least reapers are, banshees are ok against marines, get at least 1 squad of each, probably some starcannons wouldn't go wrong for either of them. Warp spiders rock against IG, and their not half bad against the other races either.

I'm going to court controversy here and recommend 2 units of 3 rangers. 3 is the ideal unit size. Also, it's 2 chances of pinning, and 6 chances of AP1 goodness (they also hit/wound very nicely, and against low save troops like Tau that's at least 2-3 kills a round). That's 114 pts between them, in a vanilla list there's no limit to how many you can take (they're troops). I take them as elites in my BT army (beside my Solitaire or a squad of 20 guardians sans gun - depending on the opponent. Always a solitaire against Chaos, it's just fluffy!) and they're great. Guardians will be nice against Tau, due to the weight of fire you can get in there. Give them a warlock with conceal, and a farseer with guide (40 re-rollable shots? Yes please!) and fortune, and they'll really hurt once they're in shooting range.
Here's another thing. Take the Avatar! He's only 80 points. One of two things will happen with him: They'll shoot him, pouring in lots of fire with high S weapons otherwise pointed at Falcons etc. They'll ignore him and shoot at your WL (which you should also take). If they ignore him, and you keep him within 12"of your combats, ALL of your models are fearless. It doesn't matter if you lose combat, even your guardians will stand there and fight on. You could be losing 20 a turn, but the remaining 1 or 2 will keep the enemy in combat long enough for your Avatar to close, charge, and deal out his max WS hurt.
i would recommend warp spiders. the amount of firepower they can dish out is sickening. just don't bother upgrading to exarch. save the points and blast away with those lovely guns.
infiltrating scorpions are nasty too.

His army list is up although it says he is fighting deathwing, in which case leave your rangers at home!
