Welcome to Librarium Online!
These are my plans for a tournamet army. The walking Hive Tyrant is there for synapse control. you may complain about the guns and the talons, but for 12 points, i get 6 strength 5 shots that re-roll to hit and to wound. I get three rounds of shooting, so i will definatley be able to get there points back. The winged one is there to go tank hunting. Also to tie up any heavy weapons squads and to draw fire. The Warriors are there for the same reason as the walking Tyrant, plus a little more anti-tank. Lictors are good sneaky fun, deploy them in some cover close to the enemy, they go in for the cover save, then you eat them. Spinegaunts are there for meat-wall, protect the Hormoguants and Genestealers. The Gunfex is there for 4 strength 10 shots, enough to pop any tank or hero too far from friends. The secon one is there to back up the walking Tyrant, and he draws lots of fire. Please let me know what you think of the composition
I think this guy's ineffecient. The devourers are too short range to be really effective on a walking tyrant... if you -have- to go ranged / CC, at least give him a venom cannon for some decent range.Originally Posted by kaiserflargus
Tyrant Guard are fine. This guy's illegal. You cannot take wings and extended carapace. Even with toxin sacs, this guy's not a good tank hunter. Use him to take out elite troops, such as Terminators, Crisis Suits (and stealths), or give him 2x twin-linked devourers and decimate enemy troops (you'll still do well on the charge).Originally Posted by kaiserflargusVery slow for CC warriors. Try to get them leaping to assure a charge and the maximum number of rending attacks.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusSee aboveOriginally Posted by kaiserflargusGood, but you've got the points cost wrong. 180 points would be the cost of two Death Leapers... this brood only costs 160.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusThese are perfect.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusGet these guys extended carapace! It's vital, especially in a tournament, to give them protection against bolters.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusLooks fine.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusTaking a twin-linked venom cannon is -not- worth it. Remember, when you buy two of the same weapon biomorph, they become twinlinked (unless they already are a twin-linked weapon). That means that you're spending 188 points for two shots a turn. Go with a venom cannon / barbed strangler combo to maximize a Carnifex's firepower.Originally Posted by kaiserflargusA good pressure/bait Carnifex.Originally Posted by kaiserflargus
Be sure to fix your illegal entry (the flying hive tyrant), and remember that taking two of the same weapon symbiote gives you a twin-linked weapon, not two non twin-linked weapons.
Where does it say that if you take two venom cannons they become twin linked? What is the difference betwee Deathe Leapers and Litors, Leapers aren't in the codex.
The quickest way to a man's heart is Chuck Norris' fist
Death Leaper is a special character (He's a lictor, with some advantages and disadvantages, who costs more points), you can find him on the UK Games Workshop website. He will also be released in the Cities of Death codex.
As to where it says two symbiotes become twin-linked, that's on page 30 of the Tyranid codex, under the "Ranged Weapon Symbiotes" heading. First paragraph, final sentence.
