Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was looking though the new White Dwarf the other day, and I noticed how a lot of the new Lord of the Rings miniatures from the Necromancer expansion would be great as necrons. The easy one will be using the Necromancer as a Necron Lord, or possibly as a Deciever, which I play to do, but those Castellans look too cool to leave out.
My problem is, I'm not sure what they would be. The most obvious would be to place them in with minor conversions as either Pariahs or Flayed Ones, but I rarely field them, and I'd like to see them on the table. Any ideas for how I could field these? I thought about getting a squad of 3, and doing some conversion to make them a different type of Wraith, but I don't know how well that would work. Maybe greenstuff something like the ringwraiths in LotR.
i suppose you could use them as flayed, since theyre close combat units anyway........
probably best to use them as pariahs, they seem more poignant that way
But isn't LoTR a slightly smaller scale than 40k? The models would look out of place.
Personally I think the LoTR models would make terrible necrons, but thats just me.
I thought all of the Citadel Models for the main games were the same size. I may be wrong.Originally Posted by The_Outsider
Yes, you are wrong. Sadly the LotR models are a smaller scale. Aragorn would be about the size of a grot! I wish they were all the same scale as this would open up a whole new world of conversions. Like a cyborg Gandalf!
i also believe that the LotR minitiaures are copyrighted and can only be used for the LotR game, at least thats what someone told me when i mentioned that when i wanted to use the ghost people as banshees/spirit hosts for my VC, he also said they wouldnt be tournament legal as they are too small compared to the actual models.
