Hey, I just got this clever and kinda funny idea to use on a Tyrant with Dual TL Devourers... Take the TLD from the 'fex and put them on the Tyrant like you would normally do. That was a no brainer but I dont have another set of devourers big enough to fit a tyrant so what about if I use the rending claws from the warriors, put them on the Tyrant and have him holding two gaunts with devourers...:shifty: maybe have the two gaunts holding warrior devourers to give them a stronger look. Has anyone seen what the Tyrant looks like with the Warrior rending claws on it? I dont have the model myself but I thought of this while in class the other day.... amazing how bored you can get in Graphic Design... Anyway... What do you all think?
I also thought of possibly heating up and bending the gaunts to make them more like they're bending to the Tyrants will, like facing the opponent instead of just him holding two, give it a little more action to the pose by bending the head, tail and body somewhat into a U to fit around the fingers of the rending claws.... thats if they even fit.
I think it would be rather interesting to see how it turns out so i say go for it but dont super glue until you like the look of it. Also i think the bigger devourers would be cool on a gaunt to make it more, can you say, "manly?". Anyways i think its a good idea.
ps. i like graphic design
Thats certainly an interesting idea. It may work if done the right way...
I reckon an idea might be to make the gaunts heads look as if they were in real pain and screaming/writhing...
Like they aren't happy to be there but the Hive Mind is making them...
And their feet/legs would have to be positioned naturally. Things like that can make or break a good looking model...
But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.
An interesting idea, though I believe that at tournaments people will give you a strange look because of it, though it will certainly provide you with good conversion points for it.
The main drawback you have from doing that though is lose a lot of flexibility of your HT. Unlike the Elite TL Dev fex, you can put ANY weapon on the HT. Also consider also that the max strength you can get on it is 5.
Having 1 set wouldn't be a bad idea at all, but I would definitely reserve one of those slots for a VC or other nice weapon (gee, hard to beat three Str 8 shots of marine-accuracy)
Yeps, but rerolling failed wounds...Originally Posted by Laplace

I was gonna do it more for the conversion part than for the actual usefullness of the TLD Tyrant
TLD tyrants are actually one of the best types. 12 s5 shots with re-rolling everything is pretty damn good if you ask me. There are very few things that the VC will be more useful then TLD on.

And their even better if they are winged, it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Fast and Furious".
