ok so i find this army list on the UK website and it talks about this army called feral orks.:O
i read through it and it shows an army makup much like an fantasy/40k mix. I like the fluff for it but my only question is...will they put up as much of a fight as regular orks? i mean i know kroot mercs are annoying + tough but orks...i dunno...if you want to see it go here-->
http://uk.games-workshop.com/orks/feral-ork-list/1/ it makes sense to not have any tanks but still. anyway post if you have any opinions on whether this would be good or not. oh and if any of you DO play this, or know about it then ignore the above, just give me some ideas for an army please.:)

Squiggoths rock, get three :shifty: de'r good an' stompy

I haven't played with the feral boyz, so my opinion is just speculation, feel free to ignore if you like

All i have to say is if you think the army is cool, then get some models and try it out! and see what they're like, i mean take the Huntas, even with weapon skill 3 they will hit a SM on a 4+, but now dey is shootier, so i would take heaps and heaps of huntas, as well as boarboyz purely because they are just plain cool, and because of that i would figure out a way to make them work, its all in the playtesting.
I don't reckon junkas are in the true spirit of da feral boyz so i'd ignore them
I'd definitely include a wyrdboy, coz its cool and about 2 squiggoths, dey need some 'uge stompies for smashing marine boyz

So this isn't an army list at all, just what i like about the feral boyz

A buddy of mine has a Feral Orks army with three squiggoths in it and tons and tons of troops. It completely kicks ass and It's really fun to play against because it just has a look and feel that is very different from "normal" Orks. Heck, it has a look and feel that is completely different from any other 40k army to be honest.

My favorite part about them (unless they are killing me) is that they are Orks with a BS of 3, which means that they can actually hit the broadside of an Imperial Munitions factory from 20 paces away, which is more than anyone can say for normal Orks.

Now they don't get a lot of cool technological gear, but they more than make up for it with all of the "feral" options that they have.

HOWEVER, I would wait a few months for the Ork codex to come out before dropping several hundred dollars on them because, who knows, they could destroy the army like they did to my precious White Scars.... damn GW.

Madboyz strike me as one of the most silly units in the game..

Ridiculously cheap, and their special rules actually make them more reliable than most normal ork units in some situations.

If I was doing a feral orks army, I'd just theme it around madboyz. Plus, you could write amusing fluff about how the army escaped from an orky insane asylum or something. ;)

Ohh, you could have so much fun with conversions though, if you read the fluff it says that can run on pure boar power, so you could do some kind of a crazy boar-chariot/trukk conversion! I'm tempted to do that anyway, even though I play bloodaxes, just to have the miniature!:w00t:

ok so from what i understand, they are fun. Im a tyranid player so i was thinking of orks as they are good in CC. NOW, i would like to know if they are making a codex for the feral orks. if so, ill wait, if not...then onwards to the WAAAAGH!! :w00t:

Feral Orks - A Good Start

Hi, this is a good Feral Orks starting point list, which can be easily adapted. Feral Orks are a bit rare and WILL almost certainly suprise your opponent - just wait till he see’s your Squiggs. If the dice gods are in your favour, you should do well.

HQ - Warboss with Power Klaw, Shoota, Eavy Armour, Fraggs and Shiny Bitz - 104 points

Troops - Huntas X 10 with two Big Shootas - 114 points

Troops - Madboyz X 14 - 98 points

Troops - Wildboyz X 10 with a Mandatory Nob equipped with a Rokkit Launcha, Choppa and Shiny Bitz - 104 points

Fast Attack - 1 Junkas Trukk armed with a Rokkit Launcha and carrying 5 Junkas Boyz - 85 points

Massive Squiggoth with 2 Kannons and one Twin Linked Big Shoota and 3 orks with shootas - 175 points

Medium Squiggoth with a Twin Linked Rokkit Launcha - 70 points

750pts in total.

Stick the Warboss in the Junkas Trukk (I think that’s legal) and letting them tear off at some target. Put the Huntas in cover somewhere and use that great BS of three for six Big Shoota shoots. Charge in with the Mad/Wildboyz, hopefully the Squggs will pull a lot of fire away from them.

40 Ork models in a 750 point list isn’t bad considering that you have 2 Two Squiggoths.

Hi again, firstly sorry about the multiple posts. Didn't mean to do that.

As for squiggoth models, just pop to your local toy shop or look on Ebay to try to find some model dinosaurs. Tricerotops is alway a good one, you can usally find different size ones. Just add some armour and weapons platfroms.
