Welcome to Librarium Online!
Not sure if this is the right section, but thought some of you might be interested in a couple of sites I have found about real exoskeletons/walker robots. I thought that seeing real, working versions might give you some ideas when building your own dreads and Kans.
Imperial Guard Walker prototype?
Prototype power armour?
Now those engineers should really get a good web designer because it looks really amateurish. Particularly love the "gargant-style" first robot!
"Politics is the womb in which war develops"
This may be a bit off the topic, but there is actualy a practical performance-enhancing suit being developed by the US military, I think it may be part of the Future Force Warrior program but I'm not sure. It may not look as neat as the stuff in those links, but so far the suit actauly works on a practical level. They're supposed to be done with it by 2020.It has things like synthetic fibers in the legs that work as external "muscles" and enhance the power of the wearer's legs. If the soldier wearing the suit could jump 5 feet unassisted, the suit should allow him to jump around 15 ft (don't think they've got this part down yet though)There's also a visor that displays valuable informatio imposed directly over the soldier's field of vision. It's all very nifty stuff. I couldn't find a site for it that's any newer then 2004 but I'm sure there's information out on it somewhere.
