Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok guys i have updated my army with a couple new units.
1 xv8 commander (air burst frag, BC, targeting array, hardwired drone controller, HW multi tracker, HW targetlock)
2 sheild drones for my commander
3 xv8 crisis elites ( 2 are set up for infantry kills and the other is set up for tank kills)
6 stealth suits( the cooler older models!!)
2 kroot hounds
8 pathfinders (3 with railrifles)
Aun' Shi (even though hes not in the codex anymore. i dont even use him anymore.)
tell me what you think. for my commander, hes standing turned to the left with one knee bent with that leg stepping on a shot up catachan. he is also modded a little bit in his weaponry(wires, pipes, ect.)
Why do you have a Targetting Array on your Commander? Better to take a Shas'o so you get better wounds and such as well. Totally worth it. Looks nice other than that. Maybe get yourself a Hammerhead and another Broadside to help with the tank-killing?
prolly 'cause it's ten point cheaper for the same BS.
Commanders shouldn't be shot at really, so wounds and CC stats don't matter, just BS.
while the Shield Drones are tough, they also destroy his IC status, so you may want to consider relying on that rather than two drones.
A Target Lock doesn't do anything for him, it only allows him to target something his unit isn't targeting, as a 1 model unit, he physically can't do this. Waste of points.
The AFP on your highest BS model is kind of silly as well since it doesn't use the firer's BS when checking to hit. Move it to a 'Vre XV8.
I suggest keeping the Pathfinder Unit "pure." No railrifles.
This is because Pathfinders are hard to keep alive unless you are really focusing on them, so having only 1 "job" for them, will really help you think about where they really need to be. Also saves points I think, can't remember.
Drop Aunshi for another Broadside. XV88 are great, but you want at least 2 Railguns an/or multiple Fusion blasters for your Anti-Tank needs at 1000+ points.
Otherwise I think it's fine. An actualy army list would give me more to work from though.

Sig by:Knape, The Celestial, and Marlinspike, thanks guys!
This is a bad bad set up for a commander, drones are a no no, as shas'o tau said they remove the IC status of the commander, so if a unit targets the commander and drones (they form a unit) and hit 3 or more times YOU HAVE TO allocate a wound to the commander, now take away the drones and keep a unit between the com and the enemy and he cannot be targeted at all, so no chance of taking wounds.Originally Posted by mmorris200987
Bodyguards and controlled drones have no place with a commander, if you want to offer the Shas'O protection take a drone squad of at least 6 drones, do not have the commander join them but have the drones form a circle around the commander with an inch between each, this makes him totaly immune to being targeted by any standard unit (only guess weapons and units with special targeting rules can shoot him i/e vindicare assassins etc), I have used the tactic for over 6 months now and I have not lost a wound on my Shas or had him caught in CC, it works.
Weapons: ABG bad idea, you take a Shas for 2 reasons 1 is IC status, 2 is superior BS so why waste the BS by taking a guess weapon, the Shas is best equiped with weapons that guarantee a wound/kill and that means Fusion and plasma (and MP if your that way out) he will hit and wound near everything on 2+ (wound on 3+ for tougher opponents) with no saves. Lose all the other crap, you do not need targeting array or target lock especially target lock because your commander should NEVER be attached to any other unit ever, you need to keep his IC status active its his best protection, Shas'O/Els always work better alone, keep the multi tracker. Why waste an XV8 on infantry killing, they are not meant to kill infantry, they are much better suited to taking down armour and tough units, if you set them up with plasma/fusion/multi or plasma/MP and multi you will have a suit that can take down any toughie and kill infantry, but leave the infantry killing to what does it best Fire Warriors, Stealths and Railheads. Also are you taking a 3 man team or 2 man team and one lone suit, if so rethink do not take the 3 man team, take two lone suits and a Shas'El secondry HQ you will have a much more efficient set up that way, you stil have 4 XV8's but you have a much more efficient Shas'El and just take two cheap helios suits or fireknifes working as lone suits.Originally Posted by mmorris200987Fine no problems thereOriginally Posted by mmorris200987Why so many Kroot, you only need 20 at the max, 32 is to many you will not be able to get them all in cover and they really suffer when they are in the open, I would lose 16 and use the 112 points along with the points on the useless broadside to buy a hammerhead, you will benefit more from the hammerhead than the 16 kroot and BS, give it a railgun and multi.Originally Posted by mmorris200987lot of drones,I take it your gonna take 2 teams, if thats the case put them with your HQ XV8's, do not attach them though cos then they can still target seperate units to the Shas's but offer them protection, do not deep strike them they dont work that well.Originally Posted by mmorris200987Lose it, 1 BS will last about 10 seconds, it has no protection its not even part of a unit, it cant move and shoot and the points can be used else where to better effect.Originally Posted by mmorris200987I hate rail rifles in pathfinder squads, you have to evaluate why you are taking this squad, is it for markerlighting or as a slightly better FW squad, the PF squad has one major disadvantage BS3 so they need as many ML equipped models as possible to get a decent number of ML hits per turn, they have a 50% miss rate so by taking 3 railrifles you have 5 MLights, now that means with luck 2 ML hits per turn and that is not good. even the railrifle is not that good 3 shots at BS3 means on average 1 hit a turn and that is not worth losing the MLight for, look at all the benefits your losing, every ML hit you lose means 1 less BS stack, 1 less cover save negation, one less seeker missile launched, 1 less target priority test, why would you want to sacrifice all that for a marine dead (if your lucky) a turn. Makes no sense to me, use pathfinders as pathfinders not as snipers.Originally Posted by mmorris200987Why??????????Originally Posted by mmorris200987I think its pretty obvious your building a list to suit the models you have (nothing wrong with that dude) but you really want to re think some of your choices, Aun'shi again WHY?, Shield drones for your commander (NO), and the railrifles and broadside, I would invest in a HH if I was you cos your missing heavy choices, use the two HQ XV8's like I advised they really are invaluable and take two lone XV8 choices, use these 4 XV8's as your anti armour, use stealths and FW as anti infantry and take 20 Kroot max.Originally Posted by mmorris200987
With the addition of a HH and the changes I advise you will have a much better balanced force, the one you have now is to easily beaten by an effective use of armour (one BSide is no good).
