Welcome to Librarium Online!
do you have any pictures of mandrakes or anything of the sort that you have converted into decapitator? I find this character extremely interestion as an hq choice. I love mandrakes too. I just need some kind of visual representation of him.
Its a smiple taller, 4 armed mandrake with a weapon that you can slice off some once head.
I made mine just like this one shown except a bit better
I too found the character interesting and started to make a model. I really didn't want to use a Mandrake body at all - I thought the mandrake model was to wimpy for a hero type creature that cost alot of points. Looking at the head shot I thought the rest of his body was a bit more muscular and larger in stature.
So far, I have 3 arms finished and ready to attach the 4th (with a pistol). I am torn on the head - I will either go with the Raider gunner head or another that I am creating using the regular bald DE warrior head with a half mask over the mouth just like the picture. Not sure which to use yet. For a gruesome talisman I am using spikes from a chaos terminator model (I think) or Predator model, I dunno but it is 3 spikes with heads impaled on them - I am going to put that on his back just behind his head. One arm will be holding a head, another with a decapitator, another with a pistol and another with a wrist blade like the mandrakes. I also have a custom base that's a pile of skulls, he will be on top of that.
I dunno, if a Haemoculus is going to take the time to graph 2 more arms on a Mandrake then shouldn't he chose an exceptional specimen? Actually, the toughest part of this experiment isnt making a cool model - it's making a cool model that looks like a Dark Eldar Mandrake, my work is cut out for me.
As for using him in a game, I am not sure it is a wise decision. 112 points for a S3 T3 model that may get a "6" to do double strength damage is risky. I will have to play test this and try him out before Medusa V. I am hoping his cover save will make him valuable for this campaign.
