Welcome to Librarium Online!
well... i will be assembling my 'nids soon but i have 1 huge immortal question: leaping and ext. carapace or wings on my warriors?:ninja:
heres the unit:
Warrior brood: 288
6 w/ adrenal glands (I&WS), flesh hooks, toxin sacs, winged, rending claws, scything talons (48 pts. Each)
now, if i swapped leaping and extended carapace for the wings it would make them cheaper (money and points) plus they would be more survivable. a little slower in some cases but not always, plus it would be better in city fight because they cant "crash". hmm.....
so what are your opinions?
Depends on the composition of the rest of your army. If winged warriors don't compliment it, they'll be so far out front that they'll get shot to pieces with bolter fire.
If you're unsure, grab EC.
Also, you don't *have* to have warriors in an army. I use them for fire support because, in all respect, CC warriors are outclassed, by far, by genestealers with the same points value. I hate it, but that's the fact of life. Warriors are overpointed for what they do, same as hormagaunts.

leaping and ec all the way
my list is in the army list section if you want to see it
I would personally prefer the leaping and EC over winged.

Depends on how you use them and how the rest of your list looks, give us an idea of your list type, which other units you take and we can answer you properly, because as it stands its impossible to answer, I take winged warriors (6 of them all CC) and they work because the rest of my list is fast and they hit the opponents lines at the same time, which means the Warriors take very little shooting damage, but they would not work in a shooty list for instance.Originally Posted by sizzol
Most of my Warriors are Leaping and EC, BUT if its a bigger game (i.e. over 1500pts) i usually take 3ish winged warriors to bounce around with my winged tyrant.
The tyrant alone can dish out some serious damage but with another 12 rendering attacks (on charge) they can wipe out whole marine squads in a round and tanks are a joke
"They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many - so, so many voices. They're coming for us - flesh, body and soul!"
This question wouldn't be as tough if you gave us more information. What else do you use in your list?
If you run a hormi-gaunt heavy list you need to have some fast snyapse;with a winged tyrant, and a broodlord you can only cover two spots on the board which leaves your army tactically inflexable, so winged warriors would be nice.
If you run a list with genestealers as the main troop choice, leaping and EC is normally the way to go because they normally will arrive at the same time (and typically draw a little fire from the genestealers which are stronger in hand to hand) and since you don't need synapse you can use these guys to bait your opponent out of cover to take a shot while sneaking your genies around thought cover because of their fllet move.
If you are running a list the depends on rippers and monsterous creatures I have no idea why you are taking warriors but I would probably take the winged ones for some extra speed, just to get moved around.
