Does anyone have any ideas on what colours to paint the orks clothes (tank top + pants) for a snow themed ork army. I've painted up one ork with a bleached bone tant top, scorched brown pants and a red helmet + warpaint (because they're speed freaks) but the bleached bone and the scorched brown don't really fit the snow theme. I haven't seen a snow themed ork army before so I'm not sure what to do next. I was thinking of trying someting like codex grey. Advice would be appretiated.
Perhaps you could go for Ice Blue trousers, (or "pants", as you call it across the pond) and codex grey top. That would look pretty good for a snow theme.
I would say a "snow camouflage" is a good colour for your army - it consists of a grey basic and black and white stripes
mmm, i dont think an actual 'snow camo' would work for orks, they dont really have the capacity to want to hide/blend in, they probably be covered in blood anyway. though a grey and blue combination (not in camo) would look good (as previously stated)

You could change the clan to blood axe, then they'd all just fit in nicely with the camo paint

THIS IS SPARTA!
Paint them however the hell you want, and slap some of that snow-basing stuff on the base. Orkz don't care about no camo, and blood-axes generally use very wrong colours for camo. And if you're good with greenstuff, put some furs on the boyz, to keep them warm enough to krump something.
Thanks for the input... BEAKIE!Originally Posted by silver_scout

Just kiddin' hahaha.
On a serious note, orks do have the capacity to want to hide/blend in. They aren't mindless or constantly thirsting to reach combat, otherwise they would have some type of khorne frenzy rule. The way I see orks (and view their rules) they are tactically sound (still aggressive and blunt, but tactically sound) until they launch their assaults, in which they become furious and insane until they die/finish off the enemy entirely.
If I were to do camo, I would do it like the camo samples they have in the ork codex, on page 24 left of the blood axe section, the one on the the lower right box that has the ork with the light blue pants with white/black splotches, and the dark grey and white top. That looks pretty 'ard and would fit well into a snowy environment scene.
