    Skarboyz don't have specific models, as such. The best way to get them is conversions. Just get a box of normal Ork boyz, and make them look 'arder. throw some extra armour plates on them, and perhaps use some Green Stuff to mold some small scars onto them.

    As far as using them goes, it depends what else you have in your army. If you have lots of boyz, then they'd go a long way in backing them up. However, if you have a force with not many Boyz in, avoid Skarboyz. They're more expensive, and die just as easy as regular boyz, so not really worth it.

    Hope that helps.

    I use older (and smaller) style models for orks with a strength of 3, such as gorkamorka and 2nd edition orks. I use the latest (bigger) plastic models for stronger orks, such as skarboys and nobs.

    If you only have the newer ones, you could;
    paint them a darker green to show they are older,
    give them bigger fangs and tusks,
    cut scars into their flesh with a modelling knife,
    paint scar glyphs on their shoulder pads, helmets and banners,
    use green stuff to bulk up their arms.

    Or just paint a sign on the front of their base saying "skarboy".

    I have this grandiose idea to use the boss from the fantasy box set to represent skarboyz. He is slightly larger, which is what a skarboy is supposed to be. He can only be aquired via the command sprue (which also comes with 2 other boyz course you'd need to attach arms... unless you want a drummer and a standard bearer)
    But the Idea of buying 20 of these sprues isn't so crazy. It would also get you 40 other boyz so I think it wouldn't be a bad way to get an army going. Just my two cents.

    I would stick with painting them a different color. I'm partial to the fantasy realm, so if i used skarboys, i'd paint them black with grey shading.

    I'm planning on using the fantasy boss sprue myself as well, the only downside is that the psrue is damn expensieve at 5 pounds each.

    Agreed, Here it's 7.50 CDN dollars for one, thats 2.50 a boy, not cheap to be sure, But then again, thats the same price I pay per regular boy anyway. As long as you use the other boyz on the sprue, it pretty much balances out. Course, having enough guns for them all may be a problem.

    The good thing is that you also get a set of boarrider legs on it which fit perfectly to a 40K, so I'll be making full use of each sprue.

    Slightly bigger orks, make great skarboys, easily converted with 40k weapons.

    Costs 5.00$ for three skarboys (and one standard bearer from fantasy), which is actually cheaper than you would pay for a normal ork in a box.
