On the gw uk website atm, you can pre-order the new rangers boxed set! 5 man box, due for release on 8th July.
Also, worth noting when you look at the heavy weapon platform (also on pre-order) in the description, the weapon platform is configurable as: scatter laser, shuriken cannon, eldar missile launcher or bright lance.
Starcannon is conspicuously absent from that list - although the early release photos show a starcannon - could it be that they're trying to cut down on starcannons by removing them from guardian squads? Or is it just an accidental omission?
Completely removing starcannons from the eldar altogether is exactly the kind of solution I have come to expect from GW...
I think its just an accidental omission though. Hope they aren't gone.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
I was more expecting them to just remove starcannons from guardian squads - not that there's any good reason to beyond 'marine players complain'. Often I wonder why they don't just limit the number of vypers (2 per squadron) or make guardian squads a minimum 8 men. That'd cut down on the number of starcannons out there, and stop people complaining.
I hope it's an omission too - however, I don't really know how likely I am to buy a heavy 2 starcannon, unless it comes down in points cost alot anyway.
Or they could cut down on the number of Space Marine armies out there- thereby eliminating the need for copious numbers of anti-MEQ weapons-
Hahahahahahahahaaaa-- had you going for a minute didn't I?
Now that is strange, Star cannons are not getting dropped, that is confirmed. And since the picture shows a Star cannon it should be in the box or it would be stupid.
I thought they'd use the same sprue that is in the Wave Serpent box but then it might not fit into the little box.
It is probably a typo.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Since Eldar are good at fast strikes and hitting hard I doubt they would remove such a prized weapon like the starcannon which compliments this role so well. Plus marines just need to die
Anyways GW have always been good at making players buy more of their stuff using various methods....one such would be giving only 2 rangers per blister when you blatantly need three minimal to make a squad, overpricing warp spiders for one model a blister when again you need three to make a squad etc etc....this is probably just another one of their marketing schemes to p*ss of the average player when it comes down to buying
