    How do you model the rending claws on your rippers? Cuz I have no idea how to do that.

    Just paint the claws of the rending claw rippers in a different color than the normal rippers' claws.

    You could dismember some Genestealer front claws (say, if You modeled them with Scything Talons) and use them for the same purpose.

    Depending on how good you are with green stuff, using putty might be much faster.
