Welcome to Librarium Online!
I believe that GW really mean't for the human player to be represented by the HQ choice on the table top and as such was wondering if there is any believable truth in thinking "Hey, thats me down there on the battle field, directing my troops around, Don't I look cool!" If this is the case then I don't think that I really want to be a Haemonculus or a Dark Lord, I mean, I look nothing like them and they are so ugly and evil! Although I play Dark Eldar I do so because I like being the underdog and I like their fragile, but hard hitting nature.
I can really understand why people play Imperial Guard or Space Marines, deep down they want to be just like them and so can relate to the models they play with (my son certainly loves them.)
So what model, if any, do you really want to be? And why did you choose to support a certain kind of race over another?
I chose DE for several reasons.
1. I came froma necron army, and I wanted a vast change (what greater gap than between DE and Necrons? they are EXACTLY opposite, in almost evey category)
2. Man. I really just love torturing people, and ripping off their skin! so far I've done it to three people, and hopefully my fourth will fall prey to me soon!
3. The DE look (ie: spiky pointy fast sleek looking coolness) is particulrly evocative to me, as is their playing style.
4. I can actually picture myself as an Archon... Perhaps not in the torturing respect, but in the fighing respect. I love the speed and skill of the Archon and the troops he needs to subtly control. Archons need to be perhaps the best political figures in the warhammer universe
So Yeah. They're my reasons. and if you can pick it, one of them is false. 10 points for the first person to guess which!
minimalism is the key.
point 2!!!! point 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exiled until 5thED redo...
I would want to be a mandrakee honestly, minus the torture they have to go through to get there, but i would just love to sneak around without people being able to see me. That or one of the incubi in the asdrubael vect box.
I have many lords. One is pretty much the dark elf witch king with a head swap on a reaver jetbike, one is a fire dragon exarch with a head swap and a banshee excicutioner, a wych lord is lelith, another wych lord is the hag from the cauldron of blood, and I am strongly considering getting a mounted dark elf sorceress and putting her on a skyboard for another wych lord.

I have the incubi master representing me, I use him as my archon/drachon most of the time
I think an eversor assassin would suit me best (well...except the exploding part...) I am almost a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (i have to be 16), and I have a high 'weapon proficiency' (I practice w/guns and home made weapons...like spears...and...more spears...).
I regularely have (quite nerdy) lightsaber fights with my brother and his friend...I know, it's nerdy, but i can do some pretty wicked moves. I mean, my hands are deadly weapons, i need a permit to take them out of my pockets (jk lol). Let me just say that, Tae Kwon Do and Gymnastics mix...very well...
Leader wise, I would probably be an inquisitor:ninja: or a preacher...I NEVER give up on a cause, and Have next to no emotion when it isn't neccesary...(my friends say i'm a cold hearted bastard lol).
Srry guys, I'm not evil enough to be a DE...

Thats partially true, we do wut we want remember. We dont mean harm, we hjust do bad stuff cause we can and no one can really stop us. MUAHAHA...
"Good or Evil, it's just a matter of timing." I think of it as either supporting the forces of order or the forces of disorder and don't consider it as being good or bad just existing with a difference of opinion. In the world of 40K conflict is scripted into every move and it helps to take sides to justify all out war.
The choice of army and HQ says a lot about a person unless you are an out and out power player (and I know a few of those). So when I field my army I feel responsible for them in a way, feeling good when they perform well and walk around sulking, blaming the dice gods when they fail. Its only the Orks that embrace defeat in a positive way, they like to be beaten up so that they can come back again for an even bigger battle next time! Not us piratical Dark Elder, a quick raid and then back to Commorragh to view the spoils.
Out of all the models I field its the HQ that I like to perform the best and if they fail its they that get changed next game for a different model. (Lucky I have quite a few models to choose from.)
