    2 Monoliths!!!

Well I have an idea of using 2 monoliths and well to be honest I do not know if this is a good idea but I was having complaints off my necron army of out-numbering certain armies and I tough of maybe using 2 monoliths would this be wise and safe or "cheesy" being my main problem but i can easily spare the points but is it good tactical wise?

P.S. Sorry my english is not very good please forgive me.

Well what else do you have in your army as this will influence it greatly and the amount of points you are playing. Main weakness to two monoliths is your phase out number isn't very good then though your enemy may waste more shots on the monolith instead of your necrons which can be good and bad.
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.

Let me get this straight, people complained that you take too many normal guys and not enough toys.

And you are thinking of swapping out some guys for a PAIR of monoliths.
If you think you got complaints about cheeziness with your list, jsut wait until you see the looks on their faces when 2 towers of doom come deep striking into their lines and obliterate EVERYTHING in range. Yes it is pretty effective, yes it is horridly mean. But personally, I would rather play against an all ground pounder necron army that is well balanced than something like 2 of those horribly powerful doom-contraptions. It is viable and it can work, but it brings your numbers down drastically.

I think you are getting complained about for just plain being a necrons player. People will whine when faced with lots of necrons, people will whine even more when faced with multiples of a monolith. Play your army like you enjoy playing it.

The most effective way is to DS one of them and keep the other close by your infantry to support and keep them out of trouble. The DSed Monolith will wreak havoc amongst the enemy Lines. Works especially well against Orcs and IG, to a lesser degree against Nids.

Don't, I repeat, don't use 'Liths against Tau. You will lose them faster than you can say "what do you, mean, markerlight for your railgun?"

I've actually seen them do very well by deep striking both of them in the enemy lines. and then start bringing troopers up by Vod, portal, bringing as many troops to bear as fast as you can to do as much damage as you can. once your troops are all through, just start cycling them through the portal to keep their losses low, and since you're already in the enemy's lines you don't lose anything by doing this. Turns where you are not taking any real casualties, particle whip or blast 'em. its a really nasty strategy.
Just watch out for oponents bold enough to try to plug your portals with troops.

Ain't gonna happen. how much troops should that be? the 'Lith can move before it uses its portal, so it has to be pretty much all encased in models to keep a portal plugged.

If you plan on DSing both 'Lith, you should equip one of your Lords with a VoD. The more troops reach enemy Lines in a turn, the merrier the carnage gets. The Points are there, you just have to use them. To pay for the VoD, consider swapping a Warrior unit for Immortals for pure Flying Circus type of fun.

that is what I was getting at. Liths reach the game, the next turn, your liths pump out 2 squads, and your lord Vod's one of the squads up to join the fray.
All of a sudden the oponent has to worry about a LOT of rapid fire shots.
