Welcome to Librarium Online!
coming from a dark eldar perspective, how do u feel how we (dark eldar) have superior technology were ud think u guys would outclass us.
Do you guys feel that you were shafted rules/games wise in comparison to the dark eldar?
ive always wondered this
take the Jetbike for Example
Our standard loadout fights as well as a space marine, and has a invulernerable save to boot
yours has a pathetic save and fights as well as a IG guardsmen
or how a dark lance costs far less than the near identical brightlance
Haruko put that thing down
"its the pirate king"
DARK ELDAR 1500
We are not your worst nightmare--- We are your EVERY nightmare
How about you have numbers in your name, tool.
Just kidding. Ya, the Eldar seem to have gotten the short end of the stick, however we have the new codex coming out, and everything should get a little revamp, hopefully making things better, etc.
yeah and besides we got vypers which offcourse alndspeeders easely equal and that new tau thing is also kind a nice...
But we do have wraithlords which are actually quite easy to kill just by using rending or snipers or other stuff, IF we even gt to field them without being chased down the street for putting cheese on the table...
But then, we do have a falcon... which is actually really good. Yeah we have a falcon!
The Morbidos Fleet will reclaim the Eldar empire. This time there shall be no mercy. Let them choke in their own blood!
yeah! I am about to start fielding 2 falcons in 1000 pts and my friends are scared ****less of them. They are intelligent enough to avoid wraithlords...
Game-wise the eldar had to get the short end of the stick. Otherwise our race would just be so superior and we would have to be grey knight equivalents to justify it.
Fluffwise I think the eldar are getting cheated though. The Imperium is in the dark age of technology but we AREN'T. I'd like to see some eldar out there inventing but in fluff all eldar weapons seem to have remained identical for 10,000 years. Ever since the fall we seem to be in a dark age too and I don't like it.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
Maybe the Eldar are so advanced that they can realise when something is good enough...
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
If they were, why would they feel that their stuff were good enough eventhough it is worse than what everyone else has?Originally Posted by <E!_Mance>
ok, here it goes:
1. eldar do have a far superior technology than the Imperium (look at fluff like
travelling through space, titans, craftworlds, spiritstones, psychic powers etc)
2. Eldar are expensive and fragile but that's because each unit is speciallized to do
one thing which it does good and must be combined with other units. Together they
work excellent. Decreasing the cost would unbalance them compared with other armies.
3. Every armies has downsides compared to others, so where's the big deal?
4. Dark Eldars are better in certain ways, but so are Eldar. Take Excarchs and Psyckers for
5. Eldar players must have a well thought interaction between their units, for one trade of a
unit might boost another up and makes them really powerfull, e.g. psychic powers.
Additionaly, Eldar do not allow as many tactical and strategical mistakes as for example
6. Some players tend to equip a unit with almost everything they can get, making them
extremly strong but also creating a ridiculous point sink. A unit of firedragons doesn't
need an excharch with cc options. That's what scorpions and banshees are for.
I rationalize eldar technology being the way it is because we pretty have to build nearly everything out of crystals and plastic pulled from the warp. That's a pretty serious design constraint!
Mind you I don't feel shorted in comparison to the Dark Eldar. Our star cannon technology is solid, our hover platforms are expensive but moving levels the field a lot and some of our stuff can handle pulse rifles.
Maybe the people I've seen with it weren't as good as they think they are but typically I find myself feeling sorry for dark eldar. Sure they're evil, but you can't help but feel a little pity as you watch a monolith waddling over to the objective in an alpha mission and then putting it into park etc etc etc.
(Pretty in pink is me)~ Gamewise we don't match our fluff thoughOriginally Posted by Microcosm~ Expensive yes, fragile yes, each unit specialized...no. How about jetbikes, shining spears, wraithguard outside of Iyanden, Rangers outside of Alaitoc, and Fire Prism.Originally Posted by Microcosm~ Please name the downsides of Space Marines....Originally Posted by Microcosm~ They have an Archon with the Initiative of a Broodlord, with BS6!!! Geez it's not even possible and they have it still (until DE get updated ofcourse).Originally Posted by Microcosm
~ We have banshees? My banshees get rocked by DE wyches 9/10 times...
~ Their Talos can take out our Wraithlord pending on the number of attacks he gets...and their Talos is cheaper...~ I agree with you there, but that's also what pushes people away from starting Eldar sometimes. "Oh no I heard if you make a mistake you lose, let's play SM or CSM instead!" (just an example conversation that actually happens, sadly).Originally Posted by Microcosm~ But why do SMs get a gun with more range and strength than our specialized unit of tank hunters?Originally Posted by Microcosm
~ Just my 2¢ on what you said, not trying to start a flame war, just looking at the other side of the coin.
5th E Sand(Grey) Knights: 11-3 (retired) 5th E Eldar: 37-4 (retired) 5th E Wolves 5-0
Space marines cost a lot, its only min maxing that gives armies bad names.
A decently equipped librarian will be closing on 170 points.
Short answer, eldar are hard to play without cheese because the codex is ANCIENT, the marines, tau etc are new and thus far more balanced with the 4th ed rules.
And no, marines are not overpowered, just like just about anything they can be cheesed.
