My friend has recently gotten the new Nids codex, and he has begun playing a shooty army. His Tyrant gets like 12 shots and can re-roll misses with "Living ammunition" and his carnifex gets like 8 shots, I was wondering is this legal? It just does not seem right, it does not make to much sense to me that the nids are able to get that many shots, on a model which is so hard to kill. Thank you for your help!

And yea, if the hive tyrant has to sets of Twin linked devours, he gets 12 shots, with re-roll misses and wounds.
One Shot, One Kill
It's perfectly legal and a valid tactic. The Devourer Tyrant is pretty vicious, and the devilfex is too, but he's paying for the number of shots by being completely unable to take down vehicles easily and having very short range. Take a tank or two and you shouldn't have much problems with either Tyrant or Fex.
Yes it is legal but remember, he is rerolling misses for tl and then also gets to reroll hits. This makes a very nasty combo but as said before, it gives an incredably short range. Some lascannons will kill the tyrant easily before it can get to your guys if you focus all your shots on it.Originally Posted by schne266

If your opponent is wise he would be taking a Winged Tyrant, so he can Hug cover, and hit rear armor.
Plus he can just assault the Tank and use MC size to tear it appart.
The tatic I would personally use to stop this is Either lots of Lascannons or Plasma weapons; chances are he will either take +1 to his save(2+) or Warp Field (2+/6+), so the AP 2 is very nice.
