Welcome to Librarium Online!
I don't play 'nids, but I was at the GW site and I relized that they don't have any of the old tyranid characters anymore, why did they take them out of the new codex?
Because they were individuals and that didnt sit well with the whole hive/gestalt entity thing. Live how they took mutants out of broods (remember hive nodes?). The Hive mind now experiments with Broods/Fleets not individuals.
They came out with the Death Leaper after the Codex was released though.
Like necrons, I gotta agree that it's pretty unfluffy to have character 'nids.
Unlike necrons however, with Nids there's more than enough variation in tactics, units, components etc to make up for that.
I think it's the face that they're so characterless and unified in their hunger which makes them so interesting.

Also, you can pretty much make Old One Eye with the new Carnifexes anyway, he's just cheaper and has more effective regeneration. I didn't think much of The Red Terror, cool model, but not really that great.
Yes but thats a mutant subspecies. There is at least on individual in each Hive. They came out with the Death Leaper after the Codex was released though.
yeah and with the old codex, remember that u created like a new type of gaunt/warrior/tyrant from teh different options then called them a 'special' name?
Sith Happens and Jedi cause it,
Tyranids - 3000pts
Thousand Sons - 500pts
just a bit of input, im pretty sure the fluffy reason that we dont get old one eye anymore is because he was reabsorbed, hence the regeneration ability that carnies now get
