im starting a neweldar army and just wanted some advice on wat units to take
i wont be using any craft world just basic eldar i was just looking for some advice
Welcome to LO and the eldar.
As you may know we are due for a new codex late this year so you might not want to go overboard with model buying. I'd suggest taking a look at some of the rumours in the appropriate section to see which models are going to remain the same in the new codex and buy those.
Most of the aspect warriors should be fine, warp spiders, fire dragons, howling banshees, striking scorpions. Also a solid troops anchor of guardians /w starcannon platforms will get you a good vanilla army. A farseer as HQ of course.
steer clear of wraithguard, swooping hawks, shining spears, jetbikes and heavy support platforms, these are the ones that might still suck with the new codex.
Basically elite aspect warriors, wraithlords, falcons, guardians, rangers and a farseer will see you through. Vypers are great now so if you have the money get one of them to give you an element of fast attack. You might even get away with the fire prism as they are basically guaranteed to be powered up for the new codex.

ok dude thnx for the advice ill take it on board seriously
thnx
Alright my advice would be along the lines of start out paying attention to the money. In a week the prices are going to change. See http://us.games-workshop.com/news/cu...riceReview.pdf
Anyway the big deal is that the eldar battleforce is going from $115 to $90 at that price you can get it, not use half the models, and still come out ahead. Warlocks will also be getting cheaper. Though it looks like warp spiders and farseers will be getting more expensive.
Therefore my advice to you would be to get a farseer now along with some warp spiders (they're just a lot of fun). Then after july 10th get the cheaper battleforce and pre-order 2 of the new weapons platforms that will be out by the end of the month. And get a couple warlocks if you feel like it.
This will give you a solid balanced force for not to much cash (as GW goes heh).
for now those jetpibikes suck. However they make a good upgrade for a farseer so put him on one and have him ghost behind the falcon (which you will upgrade with a holofield and spirit stones).
Also when making your models don't glue everything together hard ESPECIALLY THE WEAPONS. You're going to want to be able to swap them out for changes in the new codex.
Note that this will only give you two starcannons so you can't put them on both platforms and the vehicles. Other options are
Vyper with dual shurican cannons or one shuri cannon and a scatter laser
Falcon with scatter laser and shuri cannon upgrade (actually works pretty well)
use magnets for the weapons making them interchangeable.gotta go but ill drop by to add more. peace
i love the scorpians and i wouldnt take a eldar army without them.banshees are also really good. i would get a serpent for transport and maybe a falcon and a vyper. definatly get a wraithlord. i like some rangers to keep behind to pick off meat sheilds. i also like wraithguard. i would go for some warwalkers as well.
there is no art more beautiful and diverse as the art of death
I'm a new Eldar player myself, and I recommend taking at least 1 wraithlord and a squad of howling banshees. A wave serpent would also be great, adding a quick way of getting around for your aspects. War walkers have worked wonders for me, so consider also taking a squad of those.
