So I'm slowly starting to build up my Eldar force, mostly assembled my first Falcon grav tank today. Of course, the box had not even the minimal diagram/instructions that my other vehicles have had, but that's okay, it was a nicely simple model to build.
The problem that I'm having now is that I can't grok what is what weapon wise, and it seems like I'm missing something. From what I can tell I have the twin linked shuriken catapult swivel mounted in the undercarriage. Then there's some long thing that goes to the left of that, that I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a gun or what..
On the turret there's what I think is the pulse laser (the really big bright lance looking thing) and what appears to be a scatter laser for the other side.
And that's all the weapons in the box..so I'm guessing I'm gonna need to buy another sprue if I want to do the pulse laser/star cannon Falcon that I'm planning. And obviously not gluing anything, what with the new codex coming out in a couple of months.
So am I missing something or does that pretty much sum it up?
nope, you're absolutely correct.
The long barreled thingy next to the twin shuri catapults is nothing but like a sensor aray, it doesn't do anything gamewise though.
The big brightlance is a pulse laser and the other is a scatter laser, yes you need more sprue's, I suggest ordering two waveserpent heavy weapon sprue's (that's what I did) then you have every heavy weapon twice and in plastic. SO easy to convert and enough of them. This comes down to like 20 euro's (or 24 dollars or something).
The Morbidos Fleet will reclaim the Eldar empire. This time there shall be no mercy. Let them choke in their own blood!
I was afraid of that. Heh..ah well..I'll at least go ahead and prime, get started painting on the main body while my sprues are on order. I appreciate the info!Originally Posted by shadygodofdeath
Dude, I usually just buy a WAVE Serpent, THEN buy the bits for the Falcon turret. Its just plain cheaper IMO. Plus, unless your spamming a particular weapon (starcannon anyone?) You have a variety of weapons. Oh, and the choice between a falcon and a wave serpent. Yeah, I know, the stupid falcon box has no extra weapons. But the pulse laser is just a stubby brightlance, so at least you have that covered.
one thing, the short little weapon is the pulse laser, the long one is a bright lance of all things. A BRIGHT LANCE. And it doesnt even come with an alternative. I just claim my falcons got a starcannon and no one argues. The thing that really upset me though is the complete lack of a shuriken cannon. I can pass off the bright lance as a starcannon but when I say "thats a shuriken cannon" my opponent says, "no its not, theres 2 of them".
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
Dude, awesome. Appreciate posting that pic. I may even print that just as a handy reference to weapon appearance until I get familiar with what's what.
isnt the falcon supposed to come with weapon options as standard ?
GW have been neglecting eldar options. I was upset to see my warp spider exarch only came with a metal dual-death spinner.
I was even more upset to see that my falcon had to have a pulse laser, bright lance and twin catapults (although thankyou tarzen for showing the scatter laser instead). I would still like to see a starcannon coming with the falcon.
GW neglect eldar options so much, admittedly this is due to metal figures but its still annoying having to gloss over so many WYSIWYG.
actually you don't get a pulse laser. you get a bright lance and a scatter laser adn twin linked shuriken catapults. The pulse laser could be the sensor thing on the under side but because there is no source data for what a pulse laser actually looks like we just don't know
