There probably going to be redoing some of the models, but I wouldn't put my money on them redoing the average boyz all to quickly. Yes their will be a new codex but thats not coming out for at least a year the earliest so if you want to wait then your gonna be waiting for quite some time...

Yes there is not a schedule on the ork codex, however there is the pictures of the Ork and Goblin book in fantasy up on GW-online. You could interpret that they may consider releasing new Fantasy orc boys which could easily be converted into new 40K boys pending design. If your thinking orks, then start now and expand later. Don't wait for the GW line to catch up with you because you'll just be disappointed in the long run. Plus wouldn't you rather have a playable bunch of figures when the new ones are released, or would you rather rush to finish a bunch of new ones?
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
if the current models look fine to you then go ahead with those, but if you want better ones then wait, its all your own preference.
Ain't nuthin wrong with "old" models. A lot of my boyz are from the rogue trader space ork pirates... And a lot of the "newer" ones are from the 2rd Ed. box set, properly updated with the current ork 'uge arms and weapons. ;-) We call 'em hybrids.
Been playin orks for the better part of 15 years... still going strong!

Looking at the new CoD models it looks like GW is maintaining a reaonably consistent look to the ork range. I'd say it was safe to buy figures now and expect future changes (if any) to fit in.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
You can't go wrong with a few boxes of boyz, as IMO they are one of the best troop sculpts in the game..........
