Welcome to Librarium Online!
in my de army i have no hamonaculi, grotesques, mandrakes or ravagers. Please tell me what they are like because i need to know if they are worth getting
haemonculi are fairly decent, if used well they can be deadly, but its kind of a gamble to take em, and there are many better units you could take instead
grotesques...while meat shields are good, its a better investment to put your points into something else
mandrakes are cool with hidden deployment, but you gotta remember; they cant fleet of foot when they're hidden
ravagers...3 words...hell freakin' yeah. they may cost more $$$ and take awhile to paint, but three disentigrators on it and you got yourself a party. I once took out over half of a 1000 point necron army with just a ravager. You need at LEAST 1 ravager for a DE army...i'd prefer two though (depending on how many points you're playing)
You sound like you're just starting off: get the codex and read the entries for the units you asked about. If you're asking for advice on the effectiveness of the units you mention, then:
Ravagers: Very strong, but fragile (like everything else in the DE inventory!. Don't expect it to last the game, but it can run rampant for a couple of turns. Three dissies or two dissies and one dark lance is the way to go under the TVR. That way, you can move over 6" (no penetrating hits), and still fire all weapons.
Mandrakes: Very useful, but not worth their points (IMHO) in a small (under 1000 pts) game. In larger games, then they're great for getting a small force *exactly* where you need it at what is usually a crucial time in the game (3rd turn).
Haemoncule/Grotesques: Work well together, but not what I'd suggest for beginners. I think they work best as a second HQ/"retinue" unit after you've already got an Archon w/incubi.
You don't say what you have, but if you don't have them already, let me suggest getting wyches and putting them in Raiders. Then get some more wyches and put them in another raider. (Can you tell I like wyches?) These girls are HTH monsters against most opponents and are well worth their points. They have terrible saves against shooting, though, so you need the transport to get them into assault range.
i have 1000 points with loads of squads and i love the wyches (with wych weapons ALWAYS) but the raiders keep gettin blown up by them damn tau! So what i do is i have a lord on a skyboard with a unit of hellions and he has a warp portal which is great for gettin things like wyches and talos up close. Also i see you people highly rate ravagers, but im normally against Sm, IG and tau, which all have pretty great guns, and im worried about that eldar armour
it still can't be penetrated if you move 6" and 3 dissies will take down infantry easily

in my games, my ravager will most likely be blown up pretty quickly, but as long as it can get at least 1 or two full vollies off, it'll be worth its points. You can just about take down any full squad if you place your shots well. Its especially fun to take out a full squad of termies and watch the life drain from your opponent's face. but yeah, raiders can be tough to get in where you need em. you just gotta weave em in and out of the terrain so they cant be seen...and if you have no terrain, then a good idea (for larger games mainly) is to take 1 or two raider with just 5 basic warriors in em to screen your more important ones. If they die, big woop, you didnt lose TOO much, and if they life, well then at least you got yourself a mobile gun platform if nothing else
