I've Bought th Battleforce so you know what iv'e got already;
5 Scarab Swarms
Gonna Have to buy a lord and destroyers are awesome so that gives me an army like this:
2 x 10 Warriors
3 x Destroyers
Leaving me 140 pts.
What do you think? scarabs and flayed ones? Personally i think that wraiths are some of the coolest looking warhammer models and i want 3, 123pts, leaves 17 for lord items which is ok in my book they are pretty good without too much anyway.
honestly, with 3 destroyers on the board, it might be worth your while to fill out more necrons.
Does your lord have a resurrection orb? at 750 points you're still liable to run into powerfists and a few lascannons/meltas and the like. having a phase out number of 6 would make me a little nervous.
Don't count out the scarab swarms, they can be one of the most useful units because they are fast, and can be given the ability to destroy armor rather efficiently. At worst they can act as a buffer until the rest of your force arrives to rapid fire range.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
For 750 points, what you have already is pretty good. I wouldn't take the wraiths until a higher points level- they absolutely need assault support to be effective (by which I mean 'to not die quickly without doing anything). For starters, I would include those scarabs in your list- you already have the models, and scarabs are scarily good. My scarabs always do me proud . They don't kill much, but in my most recent game they prevented a squad of pathfinders from taking any action other than assault from the 2nd turn until the end of the game.
The scarabs will put you at 670, with plenty of room for a Res. Orb and a few extra points to play around with. ALWAYS take a Res. Orb. I cannot stress this enough. Especially in a small points game, where you simply cannot afford losses. Your phase out with the necrons you are planning on having will be 6, and a few well placed missile/rokkit launchers or asscannon shots will get you there really quickly if you don't have the Res. Orb. Don't leave the tomb without it! :w00t:
I would have tossed in a Monolith just to see the opponent scream.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
if you love the look of wraiths (so do i) then use them. field what you Want to field, not what you should field.

Very true, I respect the sentiment.Originally Posted by Legionnaire
But even at 500pts, I will have at LEASt 3-4 power weapons in an army. This grows along with points.
The RESORB is your most important friend. It will save your ass and if you ask it nicely, it will even do your homework.

You would be surprised at how many people will divert thier fire to the scarabs to prevent them from closing in with thier tanks. That gives you plenty of oppurtunuity to manuever your warrior into the best firing position.
Another thing that I like to do is field 2 Lords. I give one a Veil of Darkness (I think that's what its called) that let's them disappear and deepstrike, and usually a phase shifter (4+ Inv), then I put the other lord on a destroyer body with a res. orb so that he can move rapidly to where he's needed for the "we'll be back"
If you are going to use the wraiths, then give your lord phlacticary, so he can get back up better than he would otherwise (all 3 wounds left)!!!!!1!!!!!!eleven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!11!!!
