Welcome to Librarium Online!
Basically i think that if you sped up and dropped the scourges behind some walls/impassable terrain or good cover and then they could wait out until they can fire their heavy weapons and make waste of the infantry or tanks passing nearby.
Tell me if that would work or am i just trying to give myself an excuse to include them in an army list.
i beleive that they are good so i use them but what i think you should do is give them splinter cannons. Coming from a chaos marine player, think of it like this. One splinter cannon is equivilent to 4 bolter shots. 4 splinter cannons is equal to 16 bolter shots. Or you can split em up. 8 bolter shots (2 splinter cannons) 2 darklance shots. let me know if this helps and my apologies if it doesnt.
Seriously, if you're an obese idiot who plays 40K every day, doesn't have anything else to do, and gets pissed at newbies, go @$%^ yourself, and jump off a tall building. Thanks.
I'm of the opinion that if you like a unit, based on looks/fluff/whatever, you shouldn't be looking for excuses to put it in your army. Which is more important to you - an army that you like, or an army that always wins? I like the challenge in including units that aren't as "effective" but are fun to use, fluffy, look cool, etc.Originally Posted by blank generation
That said, the best use for Scourges, if you are going to include them, is to give them Splinter Cannons so that they can still make use of their high mobility and shoot. With Dark Lances, their mobility is wasted, or their shots are wasted.
I've always wondered why the Eldar Bright Lance is Assault 1 and the Dark Eldar equivalent is Heavy 1.. but ah, well.
The quote "I've always wondered why the Eldar Bright Lance is Assault 1 and the Dark Eldar equivalent is Heavy 1.. but ah, well." may how be put into perspective if you consider that Dark Eldar can take 2 lances per squad and the Eldar can take only 1. So DE have twice the fire power, but no movement allowed before firing - hence the popularity of sniper squads with 2 dark lances hiding in cover.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
eldar bright lance is assult 1 because its on a grav platform while the DE dark lance is hand held
Not quite right. The Platform lets you fire heavy weapons on the move. As does every other platform you can put a Bright Lance on. The Platform doesnt change the other weapons to assault.
The Bright lance is Assault 1 for the sole reason that a shining spear can carry one.
Harlequin Death Jesters may also take Bright Lances - which is pretty sweet for Harlequin players, as Death Jesters are Independent Characters, so their shooting will go pretty much unhampered and they have a technical effective range of 42". ^_^Originally Posted by Gallowglacht
True but until the Autumn they are still in a gray area and are rare enough that I didnt bother including them. Not to upset any Harliquin fans out there.(you know who you are. devients.)
Harlies are also vasly overpowered which is probably why GW never made them official 8cough* solitaires *cough*Originally Posted by Lost Nemesis
