    Skyray, weapon destroyed?

Quick question. If I get a weapon destoyed result against a Skyray, can I destroy the turret? or is each missle a separate weapon?

Well, technically, the Missiles are upgrades....

But the first to go would be either of the MArkerlights and the Secondary weapon(s)

    I'd have to agree here.

The "turret," I believe, is there simply for modelling reasons as the mount for the six Seeker Missiles.. and Seeker Missiles are, technically, vehicle upgrades, not necessarily weapons.

So, I would definitely agree that you can't just flat out destroy the turret, as other vehicles can mount Seeker Missiles wherever they want, etc. ... so.. either count each missile as a separate weapon, or just go for the Markerlights and secondary weapon(s).

Not positive on the technical aspect, but that's what I would do in this case.

The Seeker missiles are listed under the entry as armaments like the burst cannon on the devilfish which can be shot off, so I'd say that they would be counted as vehicle weapons, but 6 of them.

Yeah, it does actually list the 6 turret-mounted seekers under Weapons in the Skyray's profile... so you technically destroy individual missiles, but not the whole turret, as that is not a weapon. I've seen this argument before with seekers on fish/hammerheads (which, actually, are also fish :rolleyes, and it was determined that the seekers in that case could not be destroyed because they were not listed under Weapons but rather Vehicle Upgrades. If you were wondering.

Well... techically, so is stormbolters and hunterkiller missiles. (they count as weapons and is stated in their profile.)

If I was your opponent and had a choice between a seeker and a markerlight, I'd for sure take the markerlight. One seeker isn't nearly as dangerous as a markerlight, if used properly of course.

The way we play, a single missile can be removed for a weapon destroyed roll.

Seeker missiles can be removed from a vehicle as a normal weapon regardless of what it's on. It's pretty clear in the profile that the seeker is a weapon and being a vehicle upgrade doesn't negate this.

The question here isn't really would you, but could you, although it's a bad idea under most circumstances to remove the seeker missiles, you can do it if you so choose.
