Hi everybody, first post here in LO and already going to stir up a hornet's nest:
there are rumours about a New Ork Codex coming out next summer so what I'm proposing is a bit of very un-orky organization: what about agree upon what changes we would like to see in the new codex, writing down a WIP (work in progress) codex, test it in games with friends, write feddback, refine it and finally send the result to GW hoping to find a soft spot?
I'll sticky this so it is like the Eldar one. So any ideas for the new 'dex post them here.

Slugga Boyz need to be way better or way cheaper. At _pts that just one less than a Fire Warrior, and they can kill things with Str 5 from 30'' away...... So if the battle was 20 Fire Warriors vs. 22 Slugga Boyz on a 4ftx4ft table with average terrain, Orks set up on their 12'' line and Tau 6'' back from theirs, the Tau will always win.....
Personally I'd like to see alot of changes to the Ork Codex, some people might think they might be unorky or to powerful, but remeber, every new codex released is the new most powerful codex until the next new one is done, so Orks really need a boost to keep up with newer codexs like the Tyranids and Tau, who for some reason, in the hands of any good play can seem to always beat me, no matter how well my tactics work.
For one thing, I dont like standerdized Statlines, it makes sence for fantasy but not 40k, becuase in the future their is more training for wars. Shoota Boyz and Flashgitz should have BS 3 or atleast a Sharpshooters like rule where 1 are rerolled. If all they do is shoot, then let them do it decently, cause they will have picked up a few tricks for aiming and such.
I could go on for hours but I dont want to, but really orks badly need an update to compete with the new versions of everything else, right now when Orks with its cause the general's tactics and luck, alot of other races win cause they have good stats and nothing else. - Let's not share points costs, hmm? 1. A diverse retinue for the Warboss: boyz, shootas, special weapons, the works like space marines.
1. I want the storm boys to be a bit faster. Jump packs are one thing, but they have rockets on their backs!!! Missiles have 48" range!!
2. Skarboy and 'Ard Boy models. I know its a lot to ask, but do we really have to use the boyz box for everything?!
1. Make boyz cheaper. Space marines are 6 points more and have +1WS, +1S, bolters, options to infiltrate, so on and so forth.

1. More lootable vehicles. I want a looted vindicator!!!
Just a few points from my own expirience. I hope they have traits and disadvantages for the different tribes so there are clean cut differences.
Yes like what Katalyst said. I too would like to have something like the Space Marine trait selection for the orks. So we can personalise our own Ork klans.
More Looted Vehicle options. Like let the orks chose from chaos and maybe some eldar as well.
Put more things in the Wargear. Like put the warbikes and jet packs, and other things I can't think of at the moment.
And see if you can get anything on changeing the ork's S. I don't like how the orks S is the same as the IG's S. After all, Ork are stronger than dem humies.
Make the Power of the WAAAGH! better. Or make another thing that helps on the charge or something. Make if more fair for orks. All the other close combat armys have something to increase there movement, why shouldn't orks? Like give the Orks this ability in the assualt pase like,Because Orks are so blood rushed to get into close combat, role a D6,and add it to your normal movement and that is how far they assualt that turn. And or something like this, Because Orks charge in with such strangth and furry, They get +1 to there strength when they charge into close combat.
Just a few ideas I had and heard from others. Just wanted to make sure that GW hears them.

1. Integration of the klan rules so people can still make of them, this also includes KoS en Feral orks.
2. refining the wargear as many items are far to expensieve.
3. multi-lvl warboss, one for smaller battles and one for larger battles.
4. new wargear for the HQ's only to reflect their dominant role.
5. Further expanding of the Klans so each klan has more specal rules and special abilities.
6. inclusion of FW models into the codex, the gunwagon is a good choice for this.
The one problem I see giving regular orks better str is that means they can effectivly take out a lot of units a lot easier. Think about it with a choppa and 4 str they could easily waste a terminator squad espically if you did the one idea Deathwing Master suggested (though I do like the sounds of it just not the +1 str). So they would either boost their points up a bit or not do it at all plus if they did make em more expensive that means less models which to me isn't very orky then.
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.
