hey guys! im a necron player, but ive been looking for an army that i can enjoy playing and i can play in a anarrative campiaghn. I thought, ORKSIES DUDE! but ive been hearing some rumours about a new ork edition and i dont wanna start buying till i get more info.
can anyone clarify these rumours?
well the last time a dex came out, the models prices SOARED SKY HIGH
look at braod sides, they are like 20 bucks or somethin like that
if you want orkses, i say start to get them now, cas the dex is commin xmas time, i dont want to pay some 40 bucks for a trukk, adn 40 for boys
Anybody that says the ork codex is coming this year is talking BS, eldar is october/november, followed by DA and then Orks around late summer.
You can easily buy the bsic ork boys as these aren't likely to change, the warboss itself won't change much as well.
so i should start to buy em now
Sure buy up some boyz and a warboss. The new kammandos too as I doubt they will change the models so quickly. I would stay away from trucks, bikes and grots. We are all hoping some plastic grots are in the pipeline............
They won't make any hugely drastic changes methinks. I think you are pretty safe with buying ork stuff for now. The main thing they are likely to change are the vehicles, but even if you buy the ones now you can easily convert them later on. Most ork players convert a lot anyway because its fun and you can get away with it being an ork and all.

Buy now. Just save enough parts to build specialist troops. Almost all of them can be built from the boyz, assuming you have some bitz.

I actually play Necrons and started Orks for the same reason! :w00t:
As the others have said, stock up on plain ol' boyz boxes and avoid vehicles. The supposed new interchangeable Ork vehicle sprue is the excuse GW keeps giving to explain the delays in releasing the new Ork 'dex  . If that's true, that means it's bye-bye to all those crummy Gorkamorka vehicles, so don't touch 'em. Also, the boyz box will either not be changed, or get worse (if they mess with it). Since it is possible to make most ork units out of the regular boyz box, you have no real risk in loading up.
Check out The WAAAGH! for tips on how to convert boyz into other units.
so just buy boyz and convert em into other different squads of boyz? cause... all boyz stats are the same after i read the codex.. and.. they.. are all the same........
All the same stats but access to different wargear, or different amounts of wargear. Don't forget you can convert scarboyz and ardboyz out off regular boyz too. They have different stats.
