Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm sure many of you out there have had great experiences with scarabs. Most enemies under-estimate them and wish they hadnt when they finally see their power. I would have to say that scarabs are one of, if not the best unit in our codex. I've had these little buggers take out terminators for a couple of rounds, every tank imaginable and just be an out-right pain in the ***.
So with that, i dedicate this thread to be about scarabs. Post your successes and experiences with these pesky swarms and let their power be revealed to all those that come.
Scarabs own, pure and simple. I have 30 scarabs in my army, and I turbo boost or deep strike them into the opponent's deployment zone as soon as possible (1st/2nd turn). More often than not, they get very worried about their vehicles and concentrate a lot of firepower on them, letting me march up the battlefield.
But beware the power fist! Don't forget a power fist wound will take off a whole base. Assault Cannons are also nasty.
dont know if this is to topic but i really want to know if you can only get scarabs in the warrior boxes or you can buy blister packs (cant find anything on the GW site)
Smite the enemy, thank the aillies!
They seem to only come with the Warriors, but if you're clever, and put three scarabs on a base (instead of the typical four) you can squeeze four bases per box. You get 12 single scarab models and four large basesOriginally Posted by rotfang
As for my eight swarms that i use in my 1500 point army, i've had great success. One game, they chewed through a Whirlwind, Vindicator and then decimated a TERMINATOR squad over a couple of turns.
Having said that, last game I played was escalation, and when they arrived, i was a few millimetres short of the assault due to my own mathematical ineptitude, and ended up losing the entire squad to sustained fire for no reply.

Quannum, funkin' out in every way. Since 1987.
aaaah how people underestimate those little buggers
my best memory of them is to see a unit of ten of them chewing through an Baneblade:lol:

God I hate the little buggers. Took my Chaos marines forever to killer while my opponet menovered and charged with his Nightbringer...
AAAAHAHAHHAHAHA! It is true! :w00t: Scarabs are the best unit in the codex. I think I manage to say that whenever I post somehow
My favorites include:
5 scarabs being charged by DE jetbikers, killing two, and then running them off of the board. The following turn, the same scarabs charged DE warriors in cover, killed a couple, and then ran them off the board. Finally, those same scarabs died while reducing another DE warrior squad to below half strength over several rounds.
Scarabs owned that game.
Just yesterday, I played two games against a Thousand Sons army- one at 1000 pts., and a second in a tournament at 1300. Both games, my scarabs tied up his fancy chosen terminators for half of the game. In both cases, the termies were the only things left by the time they finished with the scarabs (everything else wad been shot to death.
Or an even better time- I was playing against Tau, with the old "rush pathfinders up and blast everything with a skyray on turn 2" tactic. So I naturally rushed my scarabs (7) over to where his scout move had taken him. Next turn, his commander's battlesuit squad shot thw s**t out of those scarabs, reducing their numbers to two. Those same two charged the pathfinders on my turn, who then proceeded to fail at killing the scarabs and never fire their markerlights the entire game.
My scarabs never dissapoint. Ever.
My current configuration for larger battles is two swarms of 5 bases. 15 wounds is enough to last a turn of heavy fire if they have a good cover save and turbo boost and still make it into CC. Unless they're reduced to 1 base, they'll usually succeed in tieing an enemy unit up for my assault phase and theirs, preventing heavy weapons (my usual target) from firing for a turn so I can advance safely. Being able to do this with a turn 2 charge yields amazing results- usually, my warriors have made it safely into firing range by the time the scarabs die.
They're even better with Cities of Death; cover saves everywhere!
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
ya i got to say they are great my only complaint against necrons is that thier best unit are all fast attacks but meh. ya a squad of 8 took out 5 termies, just amazing. gensteals make short work of them unfortunatly. great units and so useful
In the name of god impure souls of the living dead shal be banished into eturnal damnation. Amen.
I wish I could say one of my memories, but there are too many to do anything worth saying other than I killed azrael and a razorback...also a falcon with it's d-field or whatever it has.
