Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm expecting to play a chaos army (the normal army,I think it proper name is ''chaos undivided'' or something) and I've never played chaos marines, even with my old ultramarine army and i'm fairly new to orks.I can't even get the chaos reference sheet off the GW site because my computer is crap(its wierd because i can download about half of them).I need a bit of advice about how to beat them.Would an army list thats good against necrons or normal marines be good? And one more thing,is a chaos army usually shooty or cc based or can it be could it be eihter?Any advice is welcome.
Chaos armies are generally similar to normal SM armies, though they can field a different style quite easily. Being an Undivided list, a list that is good vs. Necrons or normal SM armies should do the trick. There will generally be a fair balance between CC and shooting, but their CC units are pretty dangerous.
Beware of the Daemon Prince who has S7+ and can get a first-round charge - they are used very often by Chaos players and tear most things to shreds.
Do you know anything at all about what your opponent will be fielding?
I don't think he has any greater demons,he rarely fields tanks and i've heard he likes havoc squads. That's pretty(well,it's not pretty for an ork:cry: ) much all i know about him.Do you think i should be worried about possesed marines if he uses them.
Sweet!!!Thanks for the advice.I'll think of you when i woop his ass.
Big squads will be you best asset.
Having the nobs with powerclaws will hurt also.
Forgive my ignorance but how do you get a first round charge daemon prince ?Originally Posted by Lost Nemesis
Never saw that before. ok i don't play much against chaos players ...
Infiltrating lord with Daemonic Speed. Gives you fleet of foot and a 12" charge.
This whole issue really depends on the player. Their are alot of chaos armys orks can't win against no matter what you do.
Do you know the player is he a nice guy or a go for the heart kind of guy?
The most simple tip is to try to never let chaos charge you. They aren't marines when they charge you will lose. Secondly, if you do the whole alternate deploying terrian make sure to put some kind of forest in the center of the field.
Chaos is hardish to predict but at the heart of it there will be squads of marines (up to 20). If you charge them with choppas with a squad of 30 you might win. Grots will be pretty useful for tying up squads for a turn while your troops move closer. The lesser demons don't tend tp have a phenomenal armour save. The big demons will go down to enough burnaz, powerklaws or rokkits if you have luck. Even the nastiest demon can only kill 6 or so orks at a time. Big squads!!! If you want to stop him infiltrating scatter some Kommandos around to deny him the opportunity. A looted basilisk or a demolisher will pie plate his squads and you can have meks nearby with a kustom force field to help. maybe buggies with Kustom mega blasters might work for damaging squads before your boys get into hand to hand.
i hope these ideas help. Let me know how it went.
