This is an idea i got from a friend and i was wondering if it would actually make a good army. First for hq get a decapitator and then for elites a couple of squads of mandrakes for troops raider squads with screaming jets and heavy support deep striking scourges
I havent found a way to keep fast attack off the bord any suggestions would be welcome
I don't know. Mandrakes are, at best, a supporting unit. Using them like this, as a major component of your army is just asking to get beat down. Rember, that once the mandrakes are revealed, they're just warriors with an extra close combat weapon.
i think mandrakes are best used as distractions. Your opponent never knows where they'll be, and so it forces him to constrain himself. Just remember that in CC, they are only slightly better than standard warriors. And i would only suggest using mandrakes against armies such as IG, or Tau (where they can get in close without being touched). If you want a lot of mandrakes though, take a wych army, cause if you fill up your elites slots with mandrakes, then you cant take wyches, and wyches are goooooood *drools*
thanks for the help the reason i tried this is because my games go too slow so i decided to have a lot of things in reserve so the'll be a bit quicker
They will go quicker but you'll have to be a pretty good gamer if you want to win meat grinder like that
