Yeah, I'm gonna be starting a new army soon, and putting away my DA force for a while because... the codex is so old it's written in sandscript . Initially I was leaning toward IG because of their tanks and numbers, but decidedly I don't want to put down the massive ammounts of cash, painting time, and game length, so I decided Tau. They appeal to me because of their mobile firepower.
I was just wondering how I could build up my army at increments.
-[RUN ON SENTANCE ALERT]-
As this will take an IMMENSLY long ammount of time for me to obtain due to various financial issues: I payed off my car, am currently jobless, and have will have a weekly allowance of $20 during school, $15 for food, $5 for self, however, as the pig that I am, it's more likely $20.50 for food... lol.
I was thinking:
Would this be a wise buying plan in order to have good games? (Plz Fix/Add/Remove Boxed Sets / Blister Packs from the list)
Oh yeah, Thx in advanced.
First, good choice on starting the Battleforce.Originally Posted by DKnightJ
Second, do not buy the Hammerhead box. The Skyray box is the same price and comes with everything in the Hammerhead box plus the Skyray sprue(s).
Third, don't bother with buying a Stealth Team - one team is enough, and you get a full 6-man team via the two Battleforces.
Besides that, I think it's a fairly decent setup. I'd do it like this:
- Crisis Suit Commander
- Kroot Hounds
This'll give you, roughly:
24x Fire Warriors, 2x Devilfish, 20x Kroot Warriors, however many Kroot Hounds you want, 3x Skyray/Hammerheads, 2x Crisis Suits, 1x Crisis Suit Commander, 6x Stealth Suits.
This leaves a fair amount of flexibility in what models to choose for varying games - 500 points, 1000 points, etc.
Hope this helps!
Sweet thanks, good call on the Skyrays! But bleh, I prefer the older stealth suits... might be able to trade them with a friend who likes the newer ones better :shifty: . That puts me at roughly a $365 dollar price + paints, yeah that's do-able for me.:w00t:Originally Posted by Lost Nemesis
I think two stealth steams are awesome, So I would get another.
Yeah, I have a pretty lenient play group so I won't purchase two squads of stealth teams till I play test them with proxied Space Marines. (Some guy uses Kroot painted red for Bloodletters LOL)
