As a cheap alternative to magnetizing models. You would still only be using 3 hard-points, you would just have excess equipment on the model if you needed to use it in a battle later.
In theory, yes.Originally Posted by fadam
In practice, I think the model would look a tiny bit ridiculous..
You would, however, have to have what weapons you are equipping them with written down in your army list, so that people won't state that you're changing them, etc.
Yeah, that sounds reasonable.
I've seen guys with literally every weapon on their battlesuits. Some of the conversions weren't bad, but others looked like Tau obliterators.
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
If it was just for friendly games, (Well I guess it must be because I could see you losing tourney points for not having WYSIWYG in tourneys) then I'd just stick the model together normally, and just use "Counts As" if you want to have a change of weapons one day.
Plus I like to keep bitz back so I can fill my bitz box XD

WYSIWYG is definitely your problem.
if you did this I would seriously just laugh, I have seen some ppl atempt it. it doesn't ever look the same again. even after he fixed it. If it didn't break the law I would suggest just 'finding' the nesisary magnets around the place. As it is I say either find a cheaper sub or spork over the cash.
Remember, "everything work's, in Theory!"

I make a point of never laughing at stupid people. They can't help that they're stupid, just as I can't help hitting them.- Aun'Vre
My only problems with it would be having to remember what configuration you were using on the day.
The purpose of WYSIWYG is to prevent the need for panadol when looking at an opponents army. If it was a one off suit, no problems. But if its all your suits.......headache central.
That's relatively simple - make each 'Suit slightly different, whether in setup, paint scheme, whatever. Then, write which colours correspond to which 'Suit - i.e., "the orange and pink battlesuit has X weapons, while the yellow and green battlesuit has Y weapons." Make sure it's written down on an army list, etc., so that nobody accuses you of cheating them.Originally Posted by Skarsgard
I suppose you could have little placards with each on that state what they have that you opponent can reference.
The best tip I can give you is to buy Neodym magnets (supermagnets) about the sice 3 Ømm x 1mm. drill small holes into the arms, shoulder and weaponsystems and glue them into the holes. and if nececary, cover up with some green stuff.
The result you get is amazingly effective, goodlooking and I can almost swear you'd love it.
Magnets is a TAU-players best friend.
Remember remember the fifth of November... Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason... Should ever be forgot...- = Always watching = -
