Hi, I've decided to get into Orks. I got my old codex out and dusted it off.
So I now have some questions :
What should my Boss be equipped with in a 750 point army and should he have a bodyguard?
What units should I definatley include in a 750 point army?
What should my Boss be equipped with in a 1500 point army and should he have a bodyguard?
What units sould I definatley include in a 1500 point army?
Welcome to da Waaagh! Wait, wrong website.
Okay, in a 750 point game, a bodyguard will eat up a lot of points. Most people would put the boss in with a squad of boyz. As for the unit's you'll need, I'd go with the basics: some boyz, some grots, and a little anti-tank fire. A squad of either tankbustas or some rokkit buggies should do well. Of course, the units depend heavily on the army type. Hell, i listed 4 kinds of Speed Freeks alone in my tactica.

As for a 1500 point list, some people would still rather have the boss join a squad of boyz. I almost always do, but as a Speed Freek, it makes less difference for me, since they'll only be exposed to enemy fire for a few turns, instead of the entire game like footsloggers. Units you should have would start with a ton of boyz, and some grots to put in front of them. A greater ratio of the boyz should be anti-tank, since the enemy will have the points to buy the big toys, and you'll always have something to blow up. A good strategy is to throw a PK (that's Power Klaw, for you 'umies) in every squad. That way, any squad can assault the odd transport they get close to.
Units to stay away from. Stikkbommerz, unless you expect to face an all-infantry IG army in cover. Even then, don't load up on them. KMB (in 'umie-talk, Kustom Mega-Blasta) buggies. Not twin linked, and they still glance you on an overheat, unlike literally every other gun that can overheat.
Other than that, it's just situation. Who are you fighting, what's your army style, etc. Give us more info, and we'll give you more feedback.

Well the general concensus is that a powerclaw and a choppa is the best loadout for a warboss, after that more points can be spent on making sure the zogger doesn't get perished ('eavy armour, cybork body, bionic bonce). Other than that an absolute must for any ork horde is a whole lot of slugga boyz. Rokkits or burnas also tend to work quite well on sluggas in my opinion. However like the honourable Thrugg said, some ideas onwho your opponents will be and what kind of army you want to play it's hard to give good suggestions.

for the warboss
defintly no bodyguard
i like to give him a tolled up slugga and a choppa
i hear power klaw and choppa works wonders but i havent used it myself
for the core army
BOYZ and more boyz
if you like speed put em in a truck
stikk bombaz are worthless
grots are a major want if not required for a footslogging army
yuh thats what i got for now

Stikkbommaz have their uses but the more boyz you have in mobs as big as you can get them with grots in front of you will take you a long way. Even if you don't win at first, when you stick 100 figures on the table the expression on your opponents face has got to be worth something.
Cry Havoc and let slip the poodles of war
Hey there Wargamez, sounds like your looking for a foot-slogger force. Here's a bit of advice on some of the stuff I like using.
Da Big Bozz:
Around here folks seem to like the powah klaw and choppa combo. I prefer mine without any armor, kuz dat's wut da boyz ar fer. I feel bodyguards are far to expensive, even in 1500 points. He's better off sloggin' it with da boyz.
Grots are an amazing unit. I'd advise getting a least thirty. You can give the slaver a rockit launcha too. These guys cover allot of boyz, and can become an instant tar-pit in pinch.
If your footslogging, your going to need LOADS of boyz. No two ways about it. Load up on special weapons. (They're all good, I myself am partial to the rockitz and burnaz) Strap a Nob in with a powak klaw and choppa, and your set! Repeat until points are full.
I'd advise taking a few buggyz/trackz. With twin linked rockit launchaz, they can zip around tres quickly and blow some nice looking holes in tanks and other big killy things. Once your opponents start seeing their dreadnoughts and leman russes blowing up helter skelter, they'll head after these guys. It's great when those devastators are busy breaking these up, rather than your boyz.
Killa kanz are nice in a footsloggin' force. They give you more fire powah, and can add some stompy-ness in close combat. Just like with the buggyz/trackz, these guyz are cheap. If they get shot at, more boyz will make it into combat. If they don't get shot at, then you got some nice strength ten attacks.
Looted vehiclez can really add some kick to your shooting. I switch out between a Leman Russ and a Basilisk. I much prefer the Leman Russ, but anything will do as long as it has some sort of Marine killing pie plate.
