Welcome to Librarium Online!
recently i have been reading about how certaint characters like comander shadowsun are not worth the points because they loose there IC status. This along with people saying things like shield drones are unnesicary becasue with the IC statusthe HQ isnt gunna get fired at much. but for new players like me i wonder how you could acomplish this? whats so special about the IC status and how can i exploit it to its full potential?
For those of us without a rulebook in our back pocket... I THINK it simply means, if you have another unit in front of your IC, they cannot be shot at UNLESS they are monsterous (and they are the closest monsterous unit). Usually a target priority roll allows you to fire at a target that is not the closest target... this is not the case with IC... you simply cant!
Please correct me if I'm wrong here...
You don't need a rulebook in your back pocket, I assure you. You just need access to a rulebook.
It's much better to let people actually figure out the answers on their own... if everyone goes around telling everyone else all the rules, then there'd be no reason to buy any codecies/rulebooks, would there?
IC status for Tau commanders is the crucial element of their tactics.
As long as they are not the closest target they cannot be directly targetted by shooting. This means you can pretty much shoot with impunity.
this works better if you equip your commanders with longer range weapons.
Shadowsun is very ordinary for her points cost, very ordianry indead.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
