Can figure out most of the acronyms used around here, but MEQ has me stumped.
MEQ= Marine or EQuivalent
Basically anything with a statline like a Spacemarines, or a 3+ save. I hate those stupid 3+ saves...

As stated above MEQ mean Marine EQuivalent, in general good armour and high toughness are required.
The following are all MEQs
1. space marines (all flavours)
2. chaos space marines
4. some people consider sisters of battle MEQ because of the armour, but many do not.

MEQ- Marine equivalent (tough 4 or better with 3+ or better save)
GEQ- Guard equivalent (tough 3 or worse with 5+ or worse save)
SoB and Tau fall somewhere in the middle of these two broad categories as Tau's armor generally makes them harder to take down than GEQ armies, but SoB are not as tough as MEQ armies, so the categories these two armies fall under varies depending on who you talk to.
