I was wondering if Tyranids get any real big monsters, besides Tyrant and Carnifex of course. I saw one a long time ago on the web but that might have been a titan, it looked like a huge Gaunt but fatter and had a big round base. Anyway if they do get any big things can you guys tell me where to get them?
i think what you are talking about is called a hyrodule. but no the the bigest thing in the regular nids army list is the fex. however you can still give upgrades and mutations if you want. another option as to play nids in epic that way you can actually use biotitans. or if you want you can look on forgeworld and find something called a haradan and a hyrodule and the new winged hive tirant.
Can i use these guys in 40K? I would love to get my hands on a TYRANID SCYTHED HIERODULE. That thing is expenisve though, around 160 dollars in American.... Anyway my main question is can I use these guys in Warhammer 40k and if i can do i need opponents consent to use him?
You can use them in 40K..and like the tanks I think you need your opponents permission to use them
a white dwarf had an article about tyranid bio-titans- equvalent to the VDR for imperial superheavy tanks and titans- sorry but i can't remember the issue
The general rules for huge Tyranids can be found in Chapter Approved 2004. As was already stated, you need your opponents permission first.
Forgeworld models: Scythed Hierodule, Barbed Hierodule, Harridan. Rules can be found in Imperial Armour Update, I believe.
Armorcast models: Malefactor, Exocrine, Haruspex. Rules can be found in the Creature Design Rules.
Forgeworld is available & expensive, Armorcast is out-of-production & eBay.
I've heard that some company made a model for Dactylis, but the pic I've seen of it looks terrible.
The CDR have been published in:
WD UK 255/ US 25X (with clarifications in a later issue, 2XX)
CA 2002 (including clarifications)
CA 2004 (including clarifications)
Now if I could just start modeling the big nasties I have plans for... Alas, not until I gain access to a friends hobby room, since my apartment is too small to even spray my army in. And I don't want to go outside with -15 degrees centigrade. ^-^;;
