I just wanted to start a thread where people could tell stories of their best or worst moments with thier Tyranids.
I was playing against Eldar a few weeks ago. All those Star Cannons were tearing me up for the first few turns. After sustaining some heavy losses, I was able to assault one of my opponents Wraithlords with 4 Genestealers. They rended it to death the same turn and Massacre moved right into his other Wraithlord. On his turn they rended that one to the ground. Back on my turn, they assaulted a unit of Dark Reapers and tied them up for 2 turns, finally killing them on turn 6. 120 points for each Wraithlord and 185 for the Dark Reapers. 425 points killed by 80 points of Genestealers.
I hate force weapons with a passion. I played against an IG friend of mine who takes a psyker in his command squad. He gave him the Honorifica Imperialis and a Force Weapon. The game was in the later turns and my TMCs were getting into combat. This little psyker killed my Hive Tyrant and a Carnifex!!! After losing my only TMCs, he was finnaly brought down by a small squad of Spinegaunts. 348 points of TMCs would not kill his guy, but 60 points of Spinegaunst ripped him apart.
BEST: The first time I won with the nids after spending over fifteen games trying to get the hang of them against space marines.
Worst: The first fifteen games when I couldn't win to save my life.
BEST : Seeing my forces advancing and my oponent begging for mercy.... but ofc , The Hive Mind dosen't know the term - mercy - . Hehehehe *insert evil laughter*
WORST: beeing decimated by the same oponent later ....
This isn't a Worst/Best but a before/after
Losing many games as the Tyranid and declaring the SM to be way overpowered and cheap.
Starting to win some games and always giving my regular opponent a run for his money if not an outright whoopin'. Now he is declaring monstrous creatures to be overpowered and cheap and I think of the SPace Marines as well balanced.
Best: A land raider was blasting my carni apart, and eventually to death on the second round. One of my zoanthropes finally got within range of a high powered blast, actually hit (which never happens) rolled a 4 to gain a glancing hit, and my enemy rolled a 6 for destruction. I think that was the best shot i have had with a warp blast.
Worst: Older rules- My hive tyrant tried to shoot at some chaos marines with a venom cannon. I missed, and the older rules say your templete weapons can only deviate halfway. I dewiated the maximum distance back towards myself, and the funny templete was rolled each time to come strait back to him! He was only partially under the templete, but i rolled the 4+ and he was hit. I then rolled to wound, succeded. I failed my armor save, and then failed my invunerable armor field save. Then i rolled more damage than i had wounds, and he died. That was a bad luck spree.
Worst: Constantly losing to my SM playing friend at home
Best: Havin first game against him in store and whoopin his ass while the crowd watched
I couldn't figure out if a CC 'Fex or a Shooting 'Fex is better. So I got both of them!
I was running a squad of 10 winged rippers against necrons. A squad of 5 destroyers opened fire on my rippers killing all but one of them (curse them not being immune to ID) that single ripper, very pissed off, decided to assault the squad...
Two rounds went by.
My rippers took a wound, and killed two of his destroyers. They failed LD test and broke.
They continued to fall back and fail another test.
They then continued to fall off of the board.
YAY for a single ripper base taking out a squad of 5 destroyers.
Also I was playing thousand sons one time and infiltrated my broodlord into a forest near his dread and defiler. First turn the dread went into a firefrenzy. My broodlord squad was 12.5" into the forest and therefor could not be seen. It then decided to turn to its defiler buddy and pump two rounds of a plasma cannon into it... yeah, no more defiler.

From the unspeakable cold of the intergalactic void, an immeasurable alien intelligence moves ever closer. Barren husks of countless star systems lie in its wake.
The first tendrils of the Great Devourer, a single entity stretching over light years of space and controlled by the immortal Hive Mind, have probed our galaxy and found it rich in prey.
It has begun to feed.
Best : 20 spinegaunts taking down a unit of 10 banshees, then my other unit of spine gaunts taking down a squad of fire dragons.
Worst : Same game, my carnifex got wasted by 5 eldar rangers my hive tyrant got wasted by wraithguard, both of them didnt get to kill one unit.
Best: Winning a meat grinder mission by having a fex survive at 1 wound and the game ending.
Worst: A bike squad killing off 16 horms, 6 stealers, and a zoan while only losing one guy. LAter on I managed to assault it with a unit of cc warriors, and the bike squad still managed to hold them up for a round and kill one of the warriors. 125 points of bikes = around 400 points of nids.

I fought against Worldeaters a few years ago. I was using the previous Tyranid codex where enhanced senses could be used with warpblast. I used three Zoanthropes and two close combat Hive tyrants all with warpblast. Two Carnifexes with scything talons worked as a body guard. As the Worldeaters advanced I was able to shoot each squad enough so when it assaulted it was small and instantly shredded. By the fourth turn I had lost Some Hormagaunts and a few wounds of my Carnifexes, the Worldeaters had been decimated, practically none were left. My opponent conceded defeat.
This was a game against Eldar. I was trying to swarm down one flank and I sent the Red terror after ten Rangers on the other. The Rangers shot the Terror and stripped away two of it's wounds. In my turn I assaulted them with the Terror confident in the way his squad was spread out I would be able to inflinct plenty of damage without them using their superior numbers to an advantage. They were in cover and were striking first. One of them got a hit. With his pitiful strength against the Red terror's high toughness and armour save he was wounding on a six and had no realistic change of getting through it's armour even if he did wound. The Ranger promptly wounded the Terror and killed it. Then the rest of the Eldar fried up my swarm with starcannons.
