I was looking at GWs site and they have rules for 2 more weapons, the spike rifle and the strangleweb, and i was wondering if anyone actually used these because i was quite interested in taking them, are they any good?
IMHO stranglebroods look awesome rules and models wise.
I really can't think of anything witty to say.
I was thinking along the same lines for one of my broods simply to add a psychological factor to my battles. (enemy doesnt know what the weapon is and panicks!) The trouble ive had tho is finding the weapons for the models in the first place! Ive found a few on gaunts on ebay but that means stripping them etc. Can anyone please add where to buy them from when replying to cortana's post!
Guants....shooting???? Negating our sweet sweet fleeting???
Are you mad?!?!?!
Guants IMO have 2 purposes...
1) The enemy sees huge swarm coming at them quickly and wastes firepower trying to stop them
2) Getting into combat quickly to stop the enemy from shooting.
Spending more points on a unit that, in game terms and fluffwise, are just cannon fodder, isn't the best course of action. The Strangle Web is kool, but has no AP and the Spike is expensive (in Guant terms).
I have thought about this and asked about it in a thread or two before but never really gotten around to making them. I always loved the idea of a whole brood of flamers, plus they can infiltrate. One thing though, many people seem to think you can only upgrade one or two with the mutations rule. This doesn't exist anymore since it says "when using the make your own hive fleet rules" which were 3rd edition.

And BC, I disagree, but that comes down to playstyle. I use my gaunts to kill skimmers and light armour, and forcing LD tests to shoot my warriors.
Will let you know how they work for me.
