Of all the units in the tyranid army what is the cheapest most efficient killing machine? would it be a brood of spineguants? stealers? a winged tyrant with VC ? upgraded rippers? by efficient i mean most attacks/wounds and damage done and how fast it will get into combat.
I vouch for Gargoyles... All that the Gargoyle is, for ten measly points? A deal that can hardly be beaten!
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
10 pts, 12+ move, decent range attack (for a tyranid), 2 close combat attacks (one at very high initiative)....
Yeah, I like the gargoyle to. Most expensive unit money wise, cheapest point wise.
Gargoyles is the cheapets models in the Tyranid arsenal second comes the Mighty Genestealers.

Why? It is just the guy from Command and Conquer what is the big deal? ? :o
As for your question, you can mathmatically prove that scythegaunts are the most attacks/wounds for your point.
Unfortunatly, math fails us here. Do you take into account how many models you have in 2" in assault? Can you take into account how long it takes the gaunts to get to the opponent? Or how many get shot up before they get there?
No. Its impossible because they will change every game. Sure, you can say "in close combat, assuming everyone is touching an enemy model, scythgaunts are the best". But you can't assume that is going to happen each time. And without the advantage of a 12" charge, scythgaunts will have a tougher time getting the charge bonus.
For a measly 4 more points, you get the same number of close combat attacks, a ranged attack, deep strike, and they can travel quicker (less time in enemy fire). Which is why gargoyles are the best bang for the buck.
Winged Hive Tyrants. Sure, they cost upwards of 160 pts, (mine can cost up to 222 with psychic powers, but I stand by what I'm about to say), but they not only kill equal, if not more points of enemy models before being slain, but the detrimental effect a flying monster has on the opposing player's mentality is priceless!!! How often I've seen people wheel their entire armies about for the purpose of avoiding/killing the Hive Tyrant, only to place it squarely in range of a Lictor or some speedy gaunts. And once you've been trapped in CC, you've had it against 'nids. You can't shoot, and those big monsters have all the time they need to slam into your expensive pretties.
Plus they have the Synapse power, which is a great boost to your gaunts, as well as looking twice as cool as anything any other army can field.
Nice imagery of the the four horsemen of the apocolipse(i wish i cud spell this word)These are fair questions but against who?Of all the units in the tyranid army what is the cheapest most efficient killing machine? would it be a brood of spineguants? stealers? a winged tyrant with VC ? upgraded rippers? by efficient i mean most attacks/wounds and damage done and how fast it will get into combat.
