if you use mekboyz in your army how many do u use, how do you use them, what equipment do you give them, and what units do you put them in?
when i get Mekboyz i would like to include one in each of my burna boyz mobz (which i will be buying soon, hopefully). i will give mine a Kustom force field 20pts, and a burna 10pts.....tell me what u think
FOR THE HORDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, i also use burna boys meks and give them a KFF.
But you cant give him a burna and a KFF... The are both 2-handed things...
damnit, i had no idea. so if i take a KKF that counts as a two handed weapon or just means i cant take any more weapons?
You can only take a single 1-handed weapon. I generally just give my mek a slugga because it's cheap. Keep in mind that if you play in a club or with hardcore players they often enfore WYSIWIG (what you see is what you get) which means you need to model the KFF on your mek).
I have a handfull of mek boyz...most have burnas and mek tools. One has a KFF and a choppa. One has a kustom mega blasta.
WAAAGH! Da Mekiniacks
"Da Orks is da best cuz we ar ded ard an killy, mean, green, krumpin machines, hav da most dakka, da stompiest dreads, da shootiest gunz, da biggest bosses, an we uze choppas...WAAAGH!"
well, i never thought about that. im gonna just have to give my mekboyz a choppa or something maybe a slugga. i havent ever played a real game so i have never heard of WYSIWYG ( what you see is what you get) i have seen some battles but they were just for fun and they never mentioned WYSIWYG! -cheers
FOR THE HORDE!!!!!!!!!!
It depends on who you play with; a lot of friendly games are pretty informal. Clubs tend to be a bit more strict on WYSIWYG standards but once again are usually pretty flexible. Tournaments generally follow strict WYSIWYG standards. I generally try to model my stuff accurately but sometimes I'm a little more creative just for the sake of creating a good looking army. For example, I've used parts from the fantasy ork box to arm some of my slugga boyz with massive morning stars and huge knives simply because they look much cooler.
Hey, I heard it is good to run killers cans and walk a mekboy behind them with a force field. I have not tried this one yet. But I hope other readers of this thread will set me straight if I am wrong.
Oh ya and that wysiwyg thing is REALLY stupid (it just puts more moeny into GW walet)
Having a KFF behind the kans gives them automatic hull down making them
a bit harder to knock out of action. However, the problem is that once
they start getting stunned or immobalized your mob starts getting broken
up and the FF can't cover them all anymore. Aside from that you need to
take either a big mek or some sort of mob (e.g., Burnas) with a mek to
WYSIWYG isn't just about putting $$ in GW's pockets: It's important for
tournaments and any sort of large scale gaming to guarantee an even
playing field: Otherwise you have players declaring "this one is a
flamer, but this one is a plasma gun" and in the middle of the battle
nobody can remember which is which. It eliminates mistakes as well as
outright cheating. Also in most tournaments, your armies are judged
both on how they look as well as how they perform. A lot of people do their own modeling and conversions; you're normally not required to buy the parts from GW.
