    Godzilla Tactica?

Well after playing with my Godzilla list and seeing how powerfull the buggers can be I decided to look around to see what where some stratagies for them. Though the one here seems extemely outdated IMO. So after looking at some other forums and such I found a pretty good build for me.

Now I would love to do a tactica for everyone...except for the fact that I suck at doing such a thing. So I was wondering if we could as a community could pitch in and make it (thus not making it sucky by being made by me  )? If not well then alas I may have to do it myself...

Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.

There are several ways to have a Nidzilla swarm. I have been thinking of doing it on the cheap. What I mean by this is to use Carnifexes with a low points value. I have many of my old Carnifexes which I am doing up as the cheaper shock troops Carnifexes found in elites. It has occured to me that i will have six, three with twinlinked devourers and three more with close combat biomorphs. Using six cheap Carnifexes instead of three cheap ones and then three expensive ones in heavy support leaves lots of points to spare.

These points could go on Hive tyrants but more importantly on many smaller Tyranids. Using eight monstrous creatures and still having points for several Tyranid warrior, Ravener and Genestealer broods could be effective.

I use 3 Fex's and 1 Tyrant in my 1500pt list and I've had a lot of luck with it.

The tyrant is VC and ST with a bit of other gear and 1 Guard
Fex 1 is a 2xST elite for shock - only low points
Fex 2 is a barbed strangler and venom cannon pure shooting one
Fex 3 is a heavy close combat one usually used for backing us the elite Fex.

1 An important thing I have found when using them is to let them do what they were designed for. If it is for shooting, let him shoot and don't let him get into close combat. If its for close combat, don't stuff around keeping them at the back of your lines, get them in there!

2 And remember synapse as well. It doesn't seem like you need it, but it is worth taking the effort to support your fex's.

3 Fex's don't work well alone against multiple strong troops (eg. basic marines or even orks). Run them in at least twos, don't let them get alone or they can be overwhelmed.

4 Biomorphs can be useful! Especially if you think about what you want each carnifex to do. Do you want it to lead charges, be the tip of the spear, back up other fex's, absorb heavy fire, etc. It can be tricky, but you can finetune each carnifex to an even more specialised roll in your army.

5 Low budget troops can be useful in support. Eg. the tried and true hormagaunt is extremely quick and can therefore tie up a unit that might be shooting at you.

6 With a Godzilla list, people can tend to set up along their table edge with long range heavy shooting gear. A broodlord and small retinue can be used to take down these threats or even distract the enemy from all of the huge MC's rampaging towards them (people are always VERY afraid of Broodlords... can't imagine why...)
But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.

Hmm nice to hear some feedback now . Though what I play is probally not a pure Godzilla list though it does have 7 of the buggers (counting the red terror though). The one thing I think a Godzilla list needs is some tough counter assault unints as these guys can keep your TMC shooting instead of being tied in CC.

Also some other strategies I have found usefull is use the massive wall of TMC to block LOS to your more fragile units in your army such as genestealers and raveners. Also another good unit IMO is zoanthropes. They can help with anti tank and help with taking out SM with their WB. The biggest benifit I think you can get from them is pyschic scream. Put it on all three and on one or two HT and you have nice little barrier that the enemy will have a tough time passing through as a potential of -5 Ld and with ample amount of BS and mass fire the enemy will have to take quite a few tests at very low Ld.

Fast Attack slot IMO is probally the best slot to get support for you big guys as raveners are very fast and deadly in CC. Bio acid spore mines can help take out pesky vehciles like basilks or wirlwinds via DS.

Also another unit probally worth taking (though depends on your area) is lictors. Their phermone tails can be invaluble in esclation games and can help bring in some DS units such as ravs, spore mines, or even red terror. They also can help the big guys hit with feeder tendrils plus can tie up some heavy weapons teams.

So IMO it probally isn't the best to max out on carnifexs in elite and heavy instead just take two for each then get some lictors and zoanthropes for support.
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.
